Wow...I got a wave today!!!

so Ive kind of lost hope of having any beetle owner around here wave to me or back at me except for this one guy who owns a uni-red

well I saw a plat gray and I thought I would give it a try

so as we pass each other the woman is frantically waving like I am and we both have these huge smiles on our faces.

It pretty much made my day

No way! The same thing happened to me on my way in from lunch on Friday! It was my first wave, and I got it from this cute girl driving a turbo Plat.

My day was officially considered made.

i've been getting more waves lately. well, more responses to MY waves, that is. i have learned this: wave enthusiastically, wave long before you're passing them and wave often.

I wish I would get waves. I see nb's all over the place, and I always wave but nothing back, most of the time they aren't even paying attention. I mean come on, everytime I see another bug I get all excited. I guess I just love this unique vehicle more than others in my area.

I agree. Whenever driving on the highway and I see other Beetles I get all excited! Everyone in the car points them out and I ..." oo...ahhh.." Especially when I see one of those " Geek Squad " Beetles. I love the black and white.

Well. For me, not so many waves or peace signs. Maybe a few. I mostly get stares, smiles, or watch a few people punch each other and say " slug bug "

i've found that the more i wave, the more reponses i get. i've been getting more reponses lately. wave early, wave enthusiastically and wave often!

I've been waving a lot lately and honking my horn too and all I get are stares or people either pretending not to notice me or they really don't see me waving hysterically at them.

Today though I saw 6 NBs in less than 5 minutes and 1 mile. The sixth one was one I've seen a lot lately and it looks like Buttercup(Al's car)twin!!! Black with cool rims and a spoiler. Anyway, I waved and the guy driving it waved back with a funny smile!! YAY!!

On my way to work tonight, I spotted a sweet silver buggy with a boomerang spoiler. Chased it down, like I almost always do. Then I saw the guy inside was on his cell phone, so I didn't expect him to notice me at all. I still pulled up next to him and waved and grinned like mad. And what do you know? He noticed me immediately, and waved and smiled back. We kept driving beside each other and sharing some more nods and waves. Then he turned left and I continued straight. Not 2 minutes later, the road I was following turned left, I came to a light, and I saw him again driving across the intersection. That was neat I could tell the loved his bug, and it really made me smile a lot.

On my way to Trader Joe's today, I flashed the peace sign to a gal in a yellow Beetle at an intersection. The driver waved back enthusiastically and I waved back heartily.

I got my first real wave in my NB last night on the way home from work.

I was stuck in really slow traffic on the highway. There was an accident or drug bust or something. Once the traffic picked up, I noticed a big, green Parks & Rec truck pulling up beside me. A guy was hanging out the passanger window checking out the car. He yelled "Nice bug!" and waved quite enthusiasticly. I laughed and waved back.

That was pretty cool.

I still can't help but wave, even though I'm in a courtesy car at the moment. Only had one wave back. This yellow NB was behind me in slow traffic coming up to a roundabout - I waved like a lunatic, and he ignored me. So I felt pretty daft - remembering I was in a Ford Ka! Then he overtook and gave me a wave on the way past. I sooooo miss my car! <huge sigh>

I got my first wave today in my nb. I was waiting for my boyfriends car to warm up when a silver beetle with 2 older people drove by and both started waving at me haha it was the coolest thing and of course I waved back. I get the biggest ammusements out of the littlest things

Then we got to the mall and there was a 73 orange Super Beetle and we had to park next to that of course. The kids like to see who can spot Bugs first. Whoever sees it yells Hi Ho Herbie yellow!(or whatever color).

Anyway, that was only my second wave initiated by someone else so I had to tell ya. YAY!

Driving back to Toronto from my bf's who put my new wheels on I saw this yellow NB well ahead, left my bf's truck in the dust and caught up to the yellow cutie. Pulled up slowly in the lane beside them. Mother and daughter were smiling and pointing at my rims and waving back (I was at this point in my frantic wave/huge grin NB mode). Then I passed them and took a pic. I was keeping my eyes on the road, so I'm surprised it came out Just as I moved over from middle to right lane ahead of YellowBug, a hot Harvest vert blew by us in the left lane! Too fast for a pic though

On Friday about 6:15pm I was on my way to my friend's rehearsel dinner. I saw 2 salsa red NBs and other NBs, so I wave/honk - no response. Then I see a salsa red NBC coming the opposite way. A man in his 50s-60s is driving, I assume his wife? next to him, top down. I wave and smile, not expecting anything. They're going by me and the wife sees me and waves VERY enthusiastically, arm over her head, smiling!YAY!!! Yup, made my day!!

If your window is open stick your hand out and wave. I get alot more responses that way. I know I have a hard time seing inside the car with the reflections on the glass so I figure they do too. It's true. I get a wave back EVERY time.
