Today Has Been A Good Beetle Day

I totally love today! I finally had the chance to vacuum Psyduck out and wipe down everything. it's the first time I've vacuumed him out since I got him in December, but it'd been about 2 weeks since the dash and such were wiped down, so I'm sure Psyduck is happy now that his interior is clean!

Then tonight-- Bath and his new shoes will be put on (finally)!

Today an older woman who is a regular at my work commented on my car as she saw me getting in. Talking about the memories she had with the classic beetles. She then joked about how "they make them so much nicer now!" so I went on a joked about how now they come with a working A/C ...so I'd say it's a good beetle day!

It gets me amp'd to hear classic beetle stories too. It's cool knowing our nB's spark memories from the old school

How about this? I stop at Target to buy a camera for my vacation to visit my brother's ranch in Boise, and what do I find in the parking lot? A 78 Super Beetle Vert and a Cyber Green NB with Daisies on it and an open spot nearby. I am thinking they work there as they were parked a little ways away. I go in, make my purchase, and hope to see the threesome still parked outside. I see that we haven't broken up and hope that my new camera battery will have a little bit of a charge. I get in Ladybug, and start tearing apart packaging to set up my new (Red LOL) camera, and I see a guy and his daughter come towards the Vert. I franticly try to open up the memory card box as the others pull out the cell phone for the photo op. Perfect. I get my camera set and get out and talk to the air cooled guy. Turns out he just got her back running after it had been sitting for 10 years. He is the mechanic for the owner and he said the owner would get a kick out of seeing it on the road parked next to 2 other VDubs. I created a new album for Parking With Others on my profile that has more pics. I also saw 6 more NB's on my 35 mile commute from there and car-a-bugged with a Black Turbo this morning. Talk about a good Beetle Day!

After a stressfull weekend with my car needing a new FCM, it was refreshing to have it receive a lot of positive feedback today!

Several couples were walking around it and looking at it smiling while it was parked at work.

It made my day to see them pointing and smiling at it.

Today after work, I made a courtsey delivery to a customer on Jacksonville's northside; one of our usual customers. Anyhoo, I dropped off the package, and the manager came out pointed at Cup and said...

"hey that's your car"? Of course I said yes. He went on to say that Tony, an employee (now former) of ours was talking about Cup and how she looked. He went on to say how nice She was.

It's cool to know that Cup is being well talked about... talked about period!

Today was a good beetle day.

What i get a kick out of is when you pass a bunch of kids and you look back and see them playing Punch Buggy.... Makes me smile everytime i see this.... Everyday is a good Beetle Day...

You reminded me of a "punch bug" event.

We were driving down Hwy28 in our bugavan, going to TOD. As Val and I were trekking through this little town, Val burst into uncontrollable laughter; Her initial outburst startled me. Val said that there was these 2 girls hanging out on the bank of this hill, and as our bugavan of 4 passed them buy, one girl gets up and starts whaling on her friend. Wish I would've seen it.

You know I've always thought VW should do a commercial, where there's a court scene where this defendant, who is being sued by a plaintiff, who happens to be in a sling, due to excessive punch buggy hits. I think it would be funny

my good beetle day happened last Tuesday - not only did i see 8 nB's (with a couple of ) within the span of an hour, i gave Daisy Rev a bath and got to put on her updated shoe accessories (custom painted take5 inserts)... we took a quick drive to a beautiful spot for a photo with Pikes Peak and then on the way home, an older lady (i'd say in her 50's) rolled down her window at a stop light to tell me how much she loved my bug! it was a good beetle day

i've had two good beetle days in a row yesterday when i dropped my frined off at her house her dad told me he liked abbie...and when i told him she was my baby he said "it certainly is a baby" that made me laugh and today when i went to go get lunch the girl at the window asked me "is it true that the engine is in the back" it made me want to laugh but i smiled and explained to her that only the original beetles have them in the back and that the moved it to the front when ever they brought the beetle back

I had two good beetle days in a row While my friend and I were driving up to an import show in Atlanta, two girls in a silver bug driving across the street actually waved

And since I was the ONLY Beetle at the show I was easily recognized, so every time I was driving to or from the show everyone we saw would honk/flash their lights/wave I really felt kinda out of place with my 2.0 between a Dodge Viper and supercharged Mustang, but everyone liked my car!

Yesterday was a good beetle day. Friday night I finished smoking my lenses, Saturday I super cleaned the house so naturally Sunday I super cleaned my baby. I finally got to use the "As Seen on TV" Fix-It Pro scratch remover and it actually worked really well. I was able to touch up a lot of minor scratches and cleaned up the 2 major scratches that I have. Too hard to get pics of the scratches on a shiny red car though. Then my son and I went to my brother and sis-in-law's house on the Fox River for some burgers for lunch and a nice "No Wake" cruise on the river because of all our rain we had. After that came home, cut the lawn, made some Italian Sausages, did some laundry, and played some Wii with the neighbors. All in all a great day that started so well with the cleaning of my Beetle.

Hoping for a good Beetle day today. Bought the Turtle Wax headlight restoration kit. Thinking of giving it a shot today after work, since the weekend was devoted to our other vw (the Mk1 Jetta project car). Time for my car to get some attention

I was in a gift shop the other week and the sales lady was really friendly and we were chatting away then she wondered over to the window and goes "oh my gosh come and see this car it's so adorable!" I didn't even think she was taking about Daisy and was so proud to say she was mine

That same day driving home I saw a hot pink NB and she waved to me and I waved back.

And yesterday a girl at my work saw my car in the car park and told me it "stands out like dog balls" ha ha!

Yesterday was awesome!!! An older man in a fellow double yellow NB waved back at me, andddddddd.. blew me a kiss!! it was adoarable!

Friday was a Good Beetle Day. I stopped at the golden arches on the way home from work and the first kid in the drive thru said he drove an air-cooled vert. The second kid handing out the food said that he always looks at what is in the vase of the Bugs that come through and he had never seen Twizzlers in the vase and said that was the coolest thing he's seen yet. I said flowers don't jive in a guy's beetle. I told him that Gayle was 12 years old and he said that is one clean Bug!

Today was a SAD beetle morning. I was driving to school and I'm coming around a bend.... what do I see but a fellow double yellow beetle broke down halfway on the shoulder & halfway in the road.. owner nowhere to be found. I seriously drove the rest of the way so upset, it really broke my heart. Butterkup & I said a prayer ( yes I know I'm nuts ) Anyway, then we're sitting at a light first up.. and another double yellow is driving by & waving right as I started waving.. So that was good.. But we hope the sick buggy gets better & doesn't get hit in the road!!

Major bummage on the broken down nB. I too hope that they got the little fella hack on the road.
