An unbelievable Good Beetle day. On my way home from work, there was this one dude who had a sharp, black on black Acura RSX and pulled beside me as I was crossing the Fuller Warren Bridge. Driving with our windows down, He looks over with a mile-wide smile..."man that is nice". "thanks" I replied. We exchanged a few more words before the traffic moved, and we went our seperate ways. BTW, I was on the way to take some pics of Cup on Jacksonville's westside.

And that's not all.....

Leaving the westside and heading back to my side of town, Mandarin, it was like a New beetle invasion hit Jacksonville. I've never waved and flashed my lights so much in my life- no one waved, but I did my part. At one point, on San Jose Blvd. We were 3 New Beetles wide; a silver to my left and a lemon- yellow vert to my right. To top it all off, the day was nice and sunny, in the high 70's with a light breeze.

Today was a good beetle day

Seems like the past week has been full of good beetle days.

Last Tuesday, while at work, I was in the warehouse where one of the LTL drivers was picking up some frieght; we always act a fool and fun around. Anyway he and one of my co-workers, along with myself were having a conversation, and for some reason, which i can't remember, i said, no my car is the bug outside. Then all of a sudden He started cracking jokes, saying.....

"oh yeah, you have a love bug"
, followed by laughter.

I replied...
"yeah, it's called a love bug for a reason. If it wasn't for the love bug back in the 60's some of you all wouldn't have been born". Then I continued on a light-hearted rant on woodstock, free love, and all that stuff. Needless to say, their laughter quickly stopped, followed by...

"you know you have a point Al".

"chicks dig the bug" I said in conclusion. Take that!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday (Sunday) I was pumping gas, and minding my own business, a dude peered around the pump, before pumping his own gas and replied, "That's a nice bug". Of couse i gave him my thanks
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And today, while on my evening commute, I was stuck in light traffic, with my windows down, and this dude in a Toyota truck, also with windows down replied "Man you've got that black deep", referring to Cup; "yeah man", I replied, while nodding my head.... Choice!!!

So i've had some good beetle days

I felt so giddy walking up to the car!!!!

Last I was in a store and heard a little girl (about 3)say to her father she liked "that yellow car" His replay was "honey that's one of those fancy cars... that's a bug"! Then he taught her the punchbuggy no punchbacks!

I was beside myself !!! Now a few hours later I am still smiling at that!!!!

What is tagged????
Sorry, new to the forum and just got my NB 09 Heaven Blue Metallic on 12/31/09.

Tagged is when you put a note on another beetle telling them to check out the org and your screen name and your cars name (if youd like) even include a picture of your beetle

There was even a sample somewhere but i dont remember where it is, hopefully someone will see this and help

This past Friday, while scouring a local VW parts/salvage jobber I had a cool experience, much to my surprise. I've shared this with Casey (MyBugRocks)- thought I'd share it with you all. It definately made for a good beetle day.

Cup and I went to this VW shop/garage/salvage place this Friday past, called Hilltop Motors... I told them I would give them a plug. Anyhoo I was asking them for a few parts and such. At first the dude didn't know who I was, which is understandable. So he went over to Cup, looked her over and then came back to me. He went to the guy behind the parts desk and said...

"Take care of this guy- give him a real good price. He's in all the VW shows"

He goes on further to say...

"You're always in the show with my sister, She has the Spongebob beetle"

I replied... "I remember your sister. She got first place and I got second"

He continues to say to the counter guy "Yeah this guy has a big following, hook him up- maybe He'll bring us some business"

Astonished, I replied... "is that right?"

He continues.... "C'mon now. I seen everyone around your bug. You have a following".

Who knew

Anyhoo, i've said all of that to say, He only recognized me AFTER He seen Cup. I'm known by Cup more than me. Kind cool i think.

I had a GREAT Beetle day today. I met a girl in the office where I work who also owns a NB. Hers is blue(I forget the exact name now). I told her about the org and even taught her the trick about the windows rolling down with the key.

It was soooo awesome to talk face to face with another NB owner. She said she would check the site out.

Hopefully a new member.

I had a good Beetle day yesterday. Driving through rush hour traffic next to a New Beetle. She wanted in my lane, so I let her in, and inadvertently let a Rabbit in front of me (from the lane on the other side in) so it was a mini VW caravan. The beetle lady waved at me once to acknowledge that I was letting her in, and again to say thanks, then because she was turning, she got next to me again, rolled down her window and said "Thanks for letting me in! Nice car, by the way!" and drove off. Made me smile.
