today was definitely a good Beetle day.. took Stella off the jack stands at 12:02am after finishing an entire suspension re-do on her.. she got new sway bars, shocks, struts, springs, bushings, mounts.... the works! it's a koni sport setup, which would be firmer than stock, but she rides soooo much smoother, which definitely says something about the shape the old one was in! went and had her re-aligned this afternoon too, so she's super duper happy now!

So yesterday I was out in about with my boyfriend and his sister in the downtown area of Sacramento. We went to an art store and were supposed to just be hanging out down there- we didnt know what to do after so I suggested we drive around looking for bugs because we had seen about 3 just parking! It was a suuuper good day and we saw so many (including an orange one and what I thought was vortex blue!) and tried to get pictures of all of them! Lol I hope its not cheating going out to look for em but we all had a lot of fun and my bf's sister was enjoying it too!

Going out to find beetles isn't cheating at all... That's standard operating procedure for us beetle nuts. And it sounds like a good beetle day indeed

Daisy has a new MAF sensor so she's feeling much better. She just barely made it up Monument Hill (7300 ft) in Colorado Springs with the old one...almost NO acceleration on the hill and the poor thing maxed out at 80 mph.

I live a mile from my job. Since I brought Gandalf home, I have been leaving the house an hour early and taking a nice brisk morning cruise. I think I may have scored a Good Beetle Week!

My new found love for these crazy little cars is also making me concerned about my mental status.

I read that as "marital status" at first!

Now where did I put those pesky glasses?

Sunday and Monday were very good beetle days.

Sunday I was at (gulp) Wally Mart. As I got out of Cup and about to make my entrance into the gauntlet known as WalMart, this dude was in full conversation on his cell phone and he, in mid conversation, stops talking on the phone, to say to me, "Man you have a nice bug. I never seen one like that". Nice to see the men folk give us beetle boys some props

Monday was choice too. on my lunch break I got a wave from a dude in a white nB- He was returning my wave. On that same lunch break, i went to grab a chicken sammich from McDonalds. Paid the cashier and proceeded to the pick up window. Dude opens up the window and took a double-take at Cup. He did a long look at Her from one end to the other, and He said.
"Man I've never seen a bug done like that before". It's funny... I get that same remark most of the time a fellow dude sees Cup. It's cool to shatter the perception of those who think our nB's look only one way. They're not Stepford vehicles for sure

Good Beetle days indeed

1. Thanks for the post, made me smile.

2. Stay the heck out of Wal-Mart!

3. I had the same thing happen to me at a drive through recently:

This kid (like 16 I guess) told me that my car was "tight". I was like thanks and as I drove off saying to myself that I hope that was a compliment!

Yes, tight is a compliment

Yeah, i try to avoid Wal-Mart and the WalMartians as much as possible. They do carry my favorite jeans though, Wrangler.

Wal-Mart is one of those place that...

you need to go
you hate it when you get there
you're so happy to leave
you swear you'll never go again
yet you need to go again.

It's a black hole i tell ya

I go to Wal Mart for my Wranglers and an occasional $4 prescription.

And I had a Good New Beetle Day today. I got a big wave from a 4 year old girl in the grocery store parking lot.

Here is my 1of 2 good beetle days. Ok, so this really nice lady that owns a 06+ vert was going down the bypass. Well I descide that I'm gonna pass her and give a big ol wave. So I pass and wave next thing I know she catches me and waves LOL. The she procedes to stay neck and neck untill she hunkers down infront of the stearing wheel like she was gonna race... She waves, smiles and BOOM! Gone! O man I thought I was gonna pee myself from laughing so hard!

2. This happened just this evening. I was doing a cleaning supply run for my store this morning at wal-mart. I'm leaving and ofcourse someone walks out infront of me at the cross walk. So I stop and look in my rear view. 20 something boy friend and girl friend are walking behind me. The bf "punches" the girl and she gets that "O my God I can't belive you just done that" look on her face. Next thing I know she pulls back AND up, then way-lays him right below the sholder!!! I about died! I sat there laughing until someone honked. I've seen countless pol and kids hit each other over my car( my tags even say PNCH BUG). But that one takes the cake for me LOL!

Sorry if things are a little choppy guys. I'm on my iPod.

It's great that i'm getting so many GBD's lately! And it seems like they're coming in twos. Yesterday (Friday) I got to work, about to punch in, but forgot I had to go pay a bill, so i made a u-turn back to Cup and we went down the street to take care of business. On the way back to work, I was at an intersection/red light (University Blvd. and Spring Park Rd.). As I was waiting for the light to change, a Batik Blue nB was making the turn right past Cup and I. So as the blonde in the bug passed us, I waved. She looked at me with the biggest grin on her face and waved happily back! Awesomeness!

And today (Saturday), I went to Publix to do a little pre-breakfast food shopping. So the Cupster and I found a parking space and as i got out of Cup, and walked into the store, with Cup waiting outside for me, I heard this couple talking. The cool thing of it was that the dude was talking to His lady in what sounded like wonderment. His words were..."That is a Volkswagen"! It was like He never saw one before. I just walked into the grocery store with a million-dollar grin on my face.

Will the succession of 2 Good Beetle Days continue? Guess i'll have to find out

It is so much fun seeing other Beetles. I smile when I see Beetles. Even my husband points them out now. I haven't even been in my Bluebonnet for months. Too ill to drive and I have been in my husbands car. I hope to drive soon.
