Today Has Been A Good Beetle Day

Not necessarily today, but when I drive up the entry way at work towards the security men who check out our company's ID's, I always get a smile and some cute words.
One even told me once that he always sees me drive up!

I forgot to post this when it happened but last week when I went to my eye doctor in LA I pulled up to pay for parking, I was surprised at how much it costed because the price had gone up but anyway, the lady was talkin while I was pulling out my credit card to pay and goes "I looove your car!! it is so cute!!!" and then she turned to her coworker and says "they just have so much character" it totally made my day

I'll tell you about 2 great Beetle days! Last Dec, around Christmas, we went by a friend of my wifes house, she just bought her first home, and was throwing a little "happy hour" one Friday eve. Ernie was all cleaned up, and my Voyager Starship was in his budvase. We parked on the street, and went in for a bit. We got up to leave, as I had my hand on the door, and the handle twisted and someone pushed his way in. I think this guy was the biggest guy I had ever seen. He looked to be about 6' 5" tall and broad shouldered. He said, Who owns that little silver Beetle parked out there? I was standing behind him by this time, I said That's my baby. He said, I love your car and I love your starship! We had to be somewhere else, or I would prolly of stayed 2 or 3 more hours chatting VWs and STar Trek! What a proud experience!!! Then one day not long ago, after a good sized snow, I took Ernie in for a bath. Someone thought Ernie was New!!! I said no, He has already celebrated his 10th Birthday!!! I was so proud of my Ernie!!!

A couple of days ago before I had to go to work real early in the morning I went to the drive thru at Starbucks and instead of writing my name on the cup to remember it was mine they just put "VW". I thought it was cute =^__^=

And I just had my rims and tires installed yesterday! I was watching the whole time and every time one of the mechanics would walk by they'd look and make comments like "Man those look good on that car!" It made me a proud Beetle owner!

Last Friday I went to Starbucks before heading to Palm Springs and I pull up to the window to pay and get my drink. As soon as the girl sees me she says "Your car is so cute!!!" I said "Thank You " she said "The inside is all girly and pink but I think it is adorable"

This totally made my day I love getting compliments especially when my buggy isn't clean hahaha

Today we are coming back from the dealer in our little Salsa Red Beetle Bailey coupe when we see our first ever sighting of a navy blue VW. They ended up pulling up next to us. The smiles were ear to ear from them to us and back. Just plain fun.

The other day we were out driving and a Salsa Red convertible was coming the other way. They honked and waved to us. Made us both smile.

Today has been a good NB day since I just bought a set of wheels last night and since it was pouring when we got home at 10pm last night after getting them I kept them in my NB...
I drove to and from work today w/ them in my car as a reminder as to how excited I am to have them! I'm sure some people had to take a look since one of the wheels were blocking part of my rear view.

Went to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Nascar Sprint Cup race. After the race we were just kinda hanging out in the parking lot waiting for traffic to thin out. I had the trunk open so we could get plenty of air flow. A group of people came by and snapped some pics of my open trunk. In the holes where the rear headrests should be is where I store/stick my seasonal vase flowers. These people just thought it was the cutest thing they had ever seen and complimented on how cute Kaylee is. Squee! Happy owner moment.

Great Beetle day today! Driving back from the auto store with the windows down in the beautiful weather, there was a Suzuki motorcycle that drove by me like 3 times and every time he did he would look back. I kept going around cars trying to get next to him at a red light (I love motorcycles ^_^; ) and when I finally did he flipped up his visor and started looking at my car then said "I like your car! Those rims look good!" Just made my whole week

I tried to see if he wanted to trade rides....just for a little while....it was a no-go

the other day i was driving around with my windows rolled down i drove past a elementry school...i wasn't driving too fast and there was a lady walking what i guess was her son and just as i pasted i heard her say hi i said hi back but im not sure if she heard me

Almost forgot to post these.

Monday I was off to my daughters to help her with some stuff. On my way I had to stop by Lowes to grab a few doo dads. As I was getting out, this dude with his wife and kids were getting into their SUV while I was getting out of Cup. The dude said to me as I was walking past him, "Man that is the nicest bug i've ever seen- you've really done a good job, never thought i'd like a bug, but that is nice"

So bullocks to those who say this car is just for chicks!!!

Tuesday I got off of work on a georgoues spring afternoon/evening. I went to grab Val and I some dinner. With windows down, rollin' down San Jose Blvd., I drove past some dudes holding up signs for their business. I heard them as i was creeping through evening rush hour traffic. "now that's a good looking bug". Coolness
