Today was a great Beetle Day. Bailey gave us the nicest ride out to the Tonto National Forest. The weather was perfect, the sun roof was open, the music was on, and my darling husband was driving. We had a wonderful time exploring areas we hadn't seen before. We just got in the car and drove turning when the mood said to .. no real plan, but a full tank of gas and ice cold water with us (never travel without water in AZ especially on a hot day).

Took a nice trip down to Chincoteague Va. to see an art show. Took all the back roads, with no traffic and lots of twisties. When we came out of the show a Blush edition was parked next to the TS. They could have parked in bunch of other empty spaces, but there it was, rite next to Floyd. I was kicking myself for forgetting my camera. All in all is was a great Beetle day.

I've been having a really bad day in general, but a good Beetle day!

After my track meet tonight, I was just sitting in the parking lot. I already had the top down and was fussing with my CDs before I left. All of a sudden, the owner of the car parked next to me says, "That's a really nice car you've got there!!" or something along the lines of that. It cheered me up when I really needed it.


Oh, and I just discovered that sunset + 78 degrees= PERFECT top down weather.

Today was a good beetle day!....and a bad beetle day

I was getting out of my car yesterday at the mall and an older couple in a pt cruiser said "that's a cool lookin bug!"

And later that night I was watching a new episode on Top Gear and they were doing a top 10 for the best auto makers (the audience voted) and VW was in 3rd! But, one of the hosts of the show said "I don't know why Volkswagen is 3rd, especially since they made the worst car, the Beetle..." o.O Seriously!? And he was my favorite host

I feel ya! I swear, it looks like Sally's trying to become a YELLOW bug instead of an orange one. Not to mention the fact that i've been having allergic reactions to it...

That's true! My friend actually, just showed me the Top Gear episode from 1998 where the other host reviewed the Beetle in Helen, GA and he liked it, gave it a good review. He even reserved a turbo! :P

Well i was out n about yesterday,I stopped to buy my ticket to the Scorpions concert..When i got back in my car a gal n her lil boy parked next to me(he musta been bout 5 or 6)they both got out of their car which was a older jetta..boy says to his mom ..look mom isnt that blue car sooooooo cute,she replied back to him said yes and that woman in it is lucky to have such a cute blue car lol that made me giggle and i think it made Boo happy too lol

Good beetle moments:

Friday at Walmart. Man is taking a little boy about age three out of his carseat and little boy is fussy. Dad walks over to Penny holding said fussy boy and points and keeps saying "look at that pretty beetle!" Little boy stops fussing

Yesterday (this IS beetle related but it's old beetle related) we got crazy happy waves from almost everyone. A few honks and a lot of smiles.

Benefit #1 for having a yellow car....besides the windows looking yukky, pollen doesn't make my car look like there is snot all over it. (Unlike my last car that was white...pollen season = YUK!)

on my way home from drill yesterday, i was driving on the interstate when a pretty new jetta 2.5 passed me and the yonger (mid 20's) where both checking my nb out like crazy as they passed me.

Yesterday was a great Beetle day! I drove my Bug to KcFoxie's house to meet up with him. Then we took his '98 TDI NB to a local VW grill-out at a park in Durham. Great day with some great people. Plus, the weather was gorgeous which=windows down driving

Hoping to get my Bug repaired in the next week or 2 so I can start driving her regularly again. Stupid catalytic converter
