Happy ending

Today I drove to the dealership in Perrysburg, Oh. to get my brake light switch replaced. Well I decided to take the long winding nice scenic road along the river home. When I pulled out of the dealership a NB drove past me & the driver looked right at me, so I waved. He just turned his head & kept going. I ended up driving through several towns I must have seen 9 or 10 NB's. I waved at them all with no response.
When I got home I went to Subway, while I was in line. I was looking outside I saw a silver NB drive by, then I saw a harvest moon vert drive by. I turned back to the menu for a couple minutes & when I looked outside again the vert was parked outside. The young lady walked in & we immediately made eye contact & smiled. She just happen to be the neighbor girl down the street. We had never met before.
We started talking about how much we liked each others NB's. I told her about the Org. & how great everyone is. We decided that as soon as we clean our NBs we will take pics together. Hopefully she will visit us soon.
So what turn out as a frustating ride home turn out very AWESOME !!!!

A rotten day can become a great day in one minute, can't it?

I always wave - even if the other driver is on a cell phone etc.

Dont let it get you down... the ones that do wave back make it all worth it.

PS: My Beetle is dirty because I plan on claybaring it tomorrow... so its all dusty right now. I was done with my meeting todayand I walked out to my car... and there were these marks on the passenger side headlight area... they were little kids hands and a little body mark (no I didnt hit a child) ... a child hugged my Beetle!!!

How cute is that (perfect, because I am claybaring any marks the little bugger left on my beetle tomorrow... hehe) But seriously...


hahaha the parent must have flipped to see how dirty my beetle made her kid.

Anyways, back on topic... many people love their beetles, so keep on waving!

Hiya Rick.. I get that too it sucks, the other day I pasted a salsa red nbc , i tooted my horn and the woman waved back , but most nb drivers dont . I need to make a road trip down your way ..

Jay, your always welcome! I was thinking about you while I was on my way over there. I wish I had you number.It was a last minute thing or I would have pm'd you. I was in the mood for Pacific Blue, but I didn't want to go alone. I did pick up a flyer for the Bugfest though.

I totally agree....I was on my way to the Westside of Cleveland Saturday afternoon on a beautiful sunny day...and passed a red convertible coming the other way and we BOTH HONKED and waved - at practically the same time.....

No disrespect to our fellow HARD TOP orgers......but I tend to honk and wave to other VERTS before hard toppers! I graciously wave and honk if THEY do it first.

I was out in the Hamptons for Father's day. Yesterday I found myself with an hour or two to myself so I went for a ride in my car. I waved to two other NBs with no response. I was feeling kind of down about it, but then two cool things happened:

1) Driving down main street in Westhampton (expensive shops, restaurants and boutiques) I had a very preppy man (pink shirt, kelly green shorts and penny loafers!) stop in a cross walk, walk over to my window and exclaim, "Wonderful car, I love the color and the stripes, these cars always make me happy!"

2) I then decided to stop at Manhattan Motorwerks, a ritzy auto dealer of Ferrari, Lotus, Lambo, Rolls Royce, Bently, Calloway and Spyker exotics. As usual there was a bunch of tourists wandering their grounds taking pictures of the cars. After wandering around the showroom, I came back outside to find two couples posing next to my NB taking their pictures! Of all the cars on the property they decided to take pictures of mine!!

YAY! Rick got a "Happy Ending"!

Thats cool though...out of all the NBs that we saw while John and Marcia were visitin and the ones we waved at noone waved. The only person that waved was a surfer dude with an OB with a surf board on top on his way out to Ditch Plains to surf most likely because he was headed in that direction. We saw him twice. Once in Southhampton getting some gas (thats when we honked and he waved) then in Easthampton when we were walking around and he drove by headed in the Montauk direction.
