Exclamation Hello everyone, i'm in desperate need of help

I'm new to the site, which makes me so proud by the way because through nb.org i've been able to replace/remedy some of the things that came wrong with my used '00 1.8t. So here goes i'm stuck at home today because I ordered a new (used) switchblade key from ebay....i know here we go. Well i removed the pin from the top part of the key and switched it out with my original key (i only got one and it was falling apart b/c of the broken plastic at end) So, then i go to start the car and the immobilizer kicked in...i new something was up so i took the key parts and replaced them so that i had all my original key again, but it still won't start can anyone help me? This is greatly appreciated i have a road trip i want to start tomorrow and it would be so foolish of me not to go over a key.

Carlitos

From what I heard from the dealership, if you keep trying to start the car with an unprogrammed key... and the immobilizer fully kicks in, the only option you have (according to them) if to have you car towed to the dealer and have them disengage the immobilizer...

That is what they told me, and the point of it to stop people from using un programmed keys... I would harken to believe them, unless someone knows different.

That I do not know about. I have a feeling it won't be that easy though... Otherwise thieves would just have to spend the 300 or less... and just take one with them, when trying to heist a vw... Someone might know... Keep checking back. Welcome to the org btw... sorry for your troubles though
