New member: long time NB owner...
I've shared custody of a 98 NB (red, 5-speed) with my wife since August 1999. We bought it with 11K miles on it and it now has over 120K miles on it. We've owned multiple VWs since 1985 (Scirocco, 4 Passats and the NB). Early on, I had very much a love-hate relationship with the car. Now that some of the very early quality issues seems to have faded into the distance, it's a wonderful daily driver...and the only car I've ever driven that I needed to pull the seat *closer* to the pedals.
