Question Looking to buy Commuter Beetle

Would like to buy used beetle as a commuter car and need advice on which model to consider. Looking for automatic with torque and power. Which models/ years best fit these requirements?

Look for a good, well cared for TDI. Plenty of power, looks great, comfortable, easy to drive and park, *and* gets 40+ mpg! You can't go wrong!

try to get as new as possible they have less problems but make sure you have the money and time to take care of the bug because these cars need love and lots of it...

Do your research about the car too dont get it because you like it, there can be lots of hidden problems.

If you NEED an automatic, and you NEED torque and power, you NEED either a TDI or a 1.8T Either way, if you're looking for a used model, make sure that the timing belt/water pump change is well documented.
