Default New Car!

Well everyone, a shiny Gecko Green TDI is sitting in my garage! I'm so excited, it's awesome! I haven't had a chance to take any pictures yet, we got home around midnight and drove around 5 hours there, and 5 hours back. My dad went with me and ended up driving it on the way home because I was so tired I couldn't wiggle, so I haven't even drove it yet! I worked a twelve hour shift the night before last, got home around 9 a.m., and we left here at 10:30 yesterday morning. It was a great trip, the dealership was awesome, I do wish that I could've got more out of my Jeep on trade in, but it's so worth it anyways! I'm posting pictures asap! Plus, I still have to name her/him!

Congratulations!!!

I can't believe you were able to let your dad drive it home! (But it was definitely the smart thing to do, if you were that tired)

I've had mine about 2 weeks and my husband has to pry the keys out of my clutching fist to get behind the wheel. I finally let him put a few hundred miles on it last weekend as we made a 650-mile round trip in one day.

We can't wait to see the pix! I hope you like yours as much as I like mine!!!

Default Welcome

We've had a 2K6 Gecko Green manual TDI for about three months. Really is a fun ride and (IMO), quite sharp looking.

Here's to many high-MPG years beetlin' it.

Thanks everybody! Oh my god it was so hard to let dad drive it on the way home, but I really would've crashed if I tried. It was pouring the rain on the 5 hour drive home, so I couldn't sleep anyways though because I was so afraid we would wreck! Dad did manage to run over one of those concrete sloped things that divide lanes in the road at one point on the trip, no damage to the car, he jerked the wheel before it really hit anything but the sloped edge, but it woke me up really quick. My boyfriend drove it today for about a mile and I was like "Okay, hand it over, now you've drove it, it's my turn again." I've been gone all day just cruising around in it! It totally blows my mind that I've drove all day and my gas gauge has barely moved. I just scotch guarded my carpets, and I'm waiting on it to dry before I snap my monster mats in. I'm really happy with the car, it's so sweet. I'll post pics when I get it all cleaned up again, the roads were wet today from all the rain yesterday, so it's kinda dirty (but still cute!).

Oh, and about the name...I like Wasabi! Awesome idea! I need to name it, and figure out what I want on my custom license plate, in KY you can only have 6 letters/digits. I may just use my name: Lalona. It fits. I don't know yet!

You could always go with "WASAB" without the I, on the plate. It would be like you car was asking "Wuzup?". Or you could shorten the name to SABI. Ummmmm..I am hungy now, I might take a cruise down the street for some california rolls.

Nice ride. Did you end up recouping your deposit from the other dealership?

About the ScotchGuard, I bought it at Walmart this evening, it's in an aerosol can with a red lid, it's "Scotch Guard Protector," and then I also bought the cloth cleaner from Scotch Guard. It was really easy to spray on but has a really strong odor, I'd recommend doing it after you've drove for the day and letting it sit and dry, the fumes could get a little noxious if you were closed up in the car right after you sprayed it. As for the deposit part, I called the dealership and the sales manager won't be back in until Monday, so they can't do anything until then. Dad says he may try to call himself and just ask for the business manager or sales manager to see if either one is in. Hopefully I'll be able to get it back.

PS-I'd love to eventually work in the cath lab at KDMC! I envy your job, I think it would be so neat! Do you like it?

In the meantime just enjoy the blissfulness of driving your NB.
