Head light upgrade
Hi all!
I am new to this site and new to my '99 Beetle. I have looked through many posts and have really ejoyed them. Which leads me to my question... I want to upgrade the front lighting on my '99 Beetle. Does anyone have experience with 100watt bulbs? Will the wiring take the load? Will the head light assemblies stand up to the extra heat? Thanks in advance. Mark

I don't know about the assemblies but i called the dealer asking about this and they said there's a chance the wires could melt down, not for certain but they could. That's all i got, but i'm new at the game so here's another one i'm interested in for responses from more knowledgable 'dubbers.

Welcome to the org. I don't know anyone running those but do recall a lot of discussion about it on the old forum. The wires on some of the older ones didn't even handle the 55watters well.
