Default New member - HIDs worth it? Turn signal bulb replacement

I'm tired of replacing my low beam bulbs every 90 days. I've disconnected the DRLs and still $40 every 3 months. Are HIDs worth it, and any recommendations on plug-n-play installations. Considering the electrical problems these cars have, I prefer plug-n-play. Also, how do you change the front turn signal bulb?

Cool

Every 90 days!? Are you touching those replacement lamps with your fingers?
I'm still on my original lamps for my '99 w/57k miles...

I know better than to touch it with my fingers. I do a lot of driving. I just turned 86K this morning and have had the car a little over 3 years. I bought it new.

I've had OEM HID's for over 3 years now and never had to replace any bulbs anywhere on my vert. U must have a short somewhere.

U mean in your front corners (bumper)? Carefully pry off the small square screw cover, put it where u won't lose it, push in and turn the bulb and it will pop out, replace with an 1157 bulb.

Thanks for the info on the front turn signal bulb. It's what I thought, but I hate to assume. I have the plain H1 low beam bulbs, and according to other forums and the dealer, the burnout is quite common. I'm looking at a conversion kit to switch to xenons, which, from what I understand, do not burn out like the H1s.

I think u still have a problem, I've had 3 NB's since '99 and never had headlight bulbs replaced.

BTW, I've been hearing that NB owners are not happy with the lighting characteristics of aftermarket HID kits, that the OEM's, which u can get, are much brighter and self leveling. A lot of owners just went to hotter/brighter H-1 bulbs. Click my sig in my first post to see wut the HID's and bumper intergrated washers look like.
