Hi! I'm Christina from GA (hi Christina LOL). My husband and I bought a NB last month after our 2000 Saturn SL2 was totalled (somewhat minor wreck, but the damage was apparently too pricey to fix). We shopped around for about a week and almost bought a Ford Focus when we decided to check out the VW dealership 20 minutes away. We looked online first and found a cute 2001 Reflex Silver and put in our info for financing on the dealer's website. They called within an hour and we went to look at the car. When we got there, they said the car had went to auction that morning (yet they called me and told me they had me preapproved for the car???). Whatever. Seemed kinda shady, but we really wanted a NB, so we looked around on the lot. They had a few other NBs that looked nice. They had a 2004 blue, 1999 black, 2002 orange, and a few more that were out of our price range. The orange one was by far the nicest and had the things we wanted (manual transmission, leather seats, CD player and cassette, etc.) so we test drove that one. We decided that was the one we wanted and took it home that day. At the time, we didn't know a whole lot about NBs and we didn't know how special our car really is. We ended up with a 2002 Snap Orange Color Concept Turbo NB without knowing what we were buying. LOL We LOVE the car and feel that it found us. We used to argue over who had to drive, now we argue over who gets to drive. We have two small kids (ages 3 and 6) who love the car as much as we do. We were a little iffy about buying a two door car with the two kids, but that little backseat has more room than we thought it did. The kids are comfy back there (though that might change as they get bigger) and they think the car is very cool. We haven't figured out the car's name yet, but we're working on it.

I've been lurking on the boards off and on since we bought the car, but I haven't had time to introduce myself until now. I work full time and I'm in school x2 (nursing pre-requisites plus EMT school) and I really don't have much time to do anything other than study. Nice to "meet" everyone!

Christina

Hi Christina ! Welcome to the org! you sure lucked out getting that Snap CC. Now you have to post a few pics.
I went thru the EMT certification about 15 years ago. I needed it to get the job I have now, which has nothing to do with being an EMT It was good info to learn though, "just in case".
Now lets see some pictures of your NB !

Welcome to NewBeetle.org and for Georgia in da house.

We pass through Warner Robins several times a year, so if you see people in a Cyber Green Bug , don't be alarmed. Just back!

One important tip...get a #15 Torx bit and every few months, remove the color inserts from your wheels before you wash your Bug. It's amazing how much brake dust those things trap. Wash the inserts with soap and water and be sure to let wheels and inserts thoroughly dry before you put them back on. Your Bug will thank you.

WELCOME TO THE ORG!!

I obsessed about purchasing a Snap Orange when they first came out, only to buy a Riviera Blue instead. Looks like the timing wasn't right for an automatic Snap. Now, when I see a Snap Orange, I say "Ahh, a Snap!"

I love those seats!!

Enjoy your new Bug!

And post pics when you have time.

Thanks for the welcome! I haven't taken any pics yet, but I do have the pic from the dealer's website. I'll post it below. I have two pics I took with another NB at school, but they're not very good pics (cheap camera I keep in the car). Today I saw something that struck me as hilarious - a cyber green NB delivering pizzas. LOL I got a pic with my cell phone so I'll post that below too.

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.
