Hey guys! I'm quite the noob here so I suppose this is a good starting point for me. I haven't bought my beetle yet but I'm quite close..

I plan on getting an 06 shadow blue because of the nice pricing I've found around town but I have one gripe.. The shadow blue beetle I have my eyes on has a black/grey interior, Now.. Aside from a complete interior change I couldn't change it to black but I did see some colored seat inserts around(not sure what to call them) So does anybody have any suggestions for me to try to make my interior look more black?

I'm a person with spooky goth tastes so, I'm in love with the shadow blue color but I'm trying to figure out a good way to apply this sort of design to it.. I want a couple(5-7?) of generic halloween bats on my car. You know, The silly ones on decorations and whatnot.

How do black designs show up on the shadow blue? Any other color suggestions that stand out but look good? I scoured the photo gallerys and didn't find any black on blue designs and I think it's for a reason so... Any help would be fantastic.

Aside from that long introduction.. Hello! I have a feeling the change from a Run over the curb Ford Explorer to a Beetle will be.. interesting, but I think I can handle it. (As long as I stop thinking that my car can run over most obstacles) :P

Oh, you will love it, and have fun with graphics. Of course, the darker the paint, the lighter the decal should be. Or at least outlined or something.

Have fun with your soon-to-be New Beetle. And Welcome to the Org!

You can easily paint out the grey interior pieces. Lots of ppl do that here. You can also probably find someone to swap seats with you, tho that might take a little time and $ to arrange.
And as for obstacles, you DO have to totally change your tkinking, but better get the Dieselgeet skidplate just in case you can't.

I'm trying to keep the car pretty dark.. It would have been smarter to go with the platinum grey with black bats.. It would look better but I'm just in love with the blue. Thanks for the advice though. :D

Hmm, Painting the grey pieces or atleast more of them in a black shade to make it appear like it's 50/50 could be a good idea. Do you know what kind of paint is usually used?

I don't think/hope I'll need a skidplate but I'll definately be driving cautiously for the first few months. An off road vehicle is so much fun though.. I'm guessing the beetles aren't pothole friendly etheir? They always seemed a bit low to the ground to me..

..wow. Thank you so much! Looking at the finished results of those projects gives me some hope. There are always seat covers for seats after all, right?

And I feel silly for not using the search option..
