A new TDI owner
Thought I'd better pop in here and say 'ello to all y'all.
Last Sunday (Mother's Day) my wife and I became new owners of (or slaves of depending on your point of view) a very elegant looking 2003 Platinum Gray GLS TDI New Beetle (doggone if that isn't a mouthful!). Neither of us had ever been in a New Beetle before and I ended up with that choice just from Internet research and some deductive reasoning. My wife had a previous comitment so I headed over to have a look at the Beetle and chat with its very nice (and very fussy) owner. I drove it home. In a few short days we've absolutely fallen in love; we knew we'd like it but I didn't know we'd get this attached, this quickly. What an infectious vehicle and man do I love that TDI. Now I'm thinking of a second New Beetle with a drop top!

 I was the same way when I got my TDI, I never new you could fall in love with a vehicle,lol Isn't the purr of the TDI just wonderful too! Show us some pics of your beautiful new bug.

Hey Les,
Congratulations on your new acquisition!! Though I really enjoy my "2 litre gas" I would look for a TDI if I were currently in the market. The fuel prices out here for RUL (reg. un-leaded) are about $3.35 and will likely spike to greater heights at the next drop of a hat (ooops! there it went...) I can afford to absorb the extra costs of fuel. I just don't want to...

lblampman, been there and done that. We were looking at a Jetta TDI and ended up with a NB TDI instead. My wife and I had never even thought about one, but now we're seriously satisfied with our little commuter ride. And how can you not love 40+ MPG
