Hello, I'm new to the forum, I've been lurking around but never posted b4.
I have a dilema with my bug! About 5 weeks ago my temp light started to come blinking red! I came to the org for info and found that it was either the coolant level, water pump, thermostat, or the temp sensor. well we had the dealer change the pump and thermostat. Didn't help! So we bought a temp sensor! Still didn't help! Let me also mention that the coolant level is fine, and the fans have been working! So today it went back into the dealer for them to try and figure out what the problem is!
we know that the car isn't getting hot because sometimes just turning the key to the "on" position will cause the light to come on and flash and beep!
Any thoughts as to why my bug thinks it has a fever!!!

No clue, you checked everything I would have suggested. Dealer should be able to diagnose it though, if not find another dealer...

Welcome to the .org...post pics.

I think it's the sensor in overflow container. I found mine chimes and blinks red sometimes for seemingly no reason. I add water to specifically fill that little cup in the middle of the reservoir, and enough to bring the fluid up to over that; and the chime stays away for a long time.

It might be near/over the max line; but I go by the internals of that container now, vs the markings on the outside.

Default yeah my bug is better!

What I found out is that my bug had an air bubble! Apparrently when the dealer changed out my water pump air got into the system. So they vacuumed out the system and all is good! Thanks for the advice, and I hope that this will help others if they have these same issues!
