Another new owner in GA
Following up on post from TNM "Plum Monster", we're also new owners in Georgia from the middle Georgia area. We just bought a 2007 convertible New Beetle that is salsa red w/tan top & interior for the wife. Our daughter turned 16 back in May so she has taken over the '98 Dodge Durango we have and we were in need of a 3rd family vehicle.
Oddly enough, I am a Georgia Tech graduate and fan but we have 3 red vehicles and a red boat. Friends call use "closet UGA fans". Most dealers had the red/black combo but wife said that was too much a UGA color scheme and she wanted the tan top. We're not new to VWs. Growing up in late 70's and early 80's my dad would buy old bugs that need some TLC. We'd do engine work, get my half-brother to paint them, spruce up inside and drive them until they sold for a little profit. After getting married, our first car was a used VW Jetta. We kept it for several years. Well, enough rambling...I'm happy to be here as a new New Beetle owner  . I'll try to post some pics later.
