Default Newbie Intro *pics*

I just join the board and wanted to introduce myself. I am 23 from Memphis, TN. I have always love VW but haven't had a chance to own one yet. I currently drive a 92 civic hatch w/ a B18C1 swap built and turbo charged. I have had quite a few cars so far. About now you are probably wondering why I am on this forum, well.. my g/f just bought ( accually her parents bought it for her ) a new car and let me pick what they got her. We ended up going with a 2000 New Beetle turbo 5-speed. It has been lady owned, 80,000 miles. It is beautiful inside and out. I have always kind of like the beetle but tended to like the GTI or Jetta more but after a couple days behind the wheel I think I have changed my mind. When I get another car it would like it to be one of these. It is one of the smoothest cars I think I have ever driven. For the time being I think she will leave it stock but I hope she will decide she wanted to start moding it some. For now she needs to get used to it, going from an 87 toyota pick-up to a 2000 turbo beetle is quite a step up.

Anyway, Now for the pictures:

Well I got to drive it again yesterday! I never thought I would be excited about getting to drive a beetle but damn are they fun! She is finally starting to enjoy driving as well, when she had the truck she hated driving. After only 3 days with the beetle she is excited to get to go anywhere. She wanted cloth because it doesn't burn the butt in the summer or freeze it in the winter, not that she would have to worry about the cold seat in this car. Heated seats should be nice to have! Thanks for the welcome. Hopefully I can get bills straight and my other loan paid off then I plan to buy a NB for a daily driver. In the mean time I will just have to ask nicely (aka, beg!) to drive hers.

Default Very Cool

Your little Silver Bug looks like my little Silver bug....but I don't have the cool spoiler or the 1.8 Turbo engine (my little guy has 95k....).

This is an extremely fun car to drive......

Later-Joe (no photos....just a slightly overweight, 50 year-old , white guy with a Beetle).

Thanks, this one is the girlfriends bug. They are very fun to drive, that is why I bought a black 2002 turbo S the week after she got hers.
