Car: 2007 1.6 Laser Blue New Beetle
Default Cloud 9

Hi everybody. I'm Mas from Malaysia and my new laser blue 1.6 beetle is just about 3 weeks old. I can't believe I finally got the car of my dreams. My first car ever was a white 1963 beetle (when i was in uni) and I still remember all the fun my friends and I used to have in the car, on the way to the next party, even though I had to hang on to the 4th gear as it wouldn't stick...! I would sometimes get the front passenger to hang on to it when I got tired! That didn't stop us from driving all over the country though. My first long distance drive in my new beetle (it was unplanned) with my best friend Jules, was dream-like as we cruised down the highway at 12:30am, with music blasting and us singing our lungs out. We were on cloud 9, feeling exhilirated and thinking how it was like then in my old beetle and how great it felt in my new beetle. My only problem with my new car is how to make sure the daisies I put in the teeny tiny vase lasts for more than 1 day as it is freaking hot here in Malaysia. Heh...

I understand the Cloud 9 feeling. I get it even after five years.

Welcome to the Org, and Congratulations to you!

Thanks dnyed. It's great to be part of this community and talk to people that 'gets it' i.e. the beetle. Thinking of doing some temporary tattoos (customized car stickers) on the car's rear end. Anyone with examples of such?

No matter your age, it's like being a kid at Christmas again.
Enjoy your beetle!

BTW, Welcome to the forum!

What works well in a hot climate are flowers from any succulent/cactus type plant and also orchids, they can last for weeks.

Welcome aboard!

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought of George Harrison. Cloud 9 was the title of an album he put out. He was my favorite Beatle!

It sounds like you've gotten a great start with your New Beetle. Laser Blue is a gorgeous color, too! Can't wait to see some pictures of your fun new ride!

This was the album I was thinking about.

Sure, it was from the 80s (and obvious from his outfit ), but it had my favorite song of his on it!
