Question Leather arm rests

My 2000 has leather arm rests and it appears that the leather is contracting and creeping away or coming loose from the inner door panel creating sort of a puffy, uneven look. It doesn't look all that bad but over time it can only get worse. Has anyone experienced this problem and if so might there be a simple solution? Both arm rests have the same problem. Appreciate any thoughts that might be out there..... Thanks very much.
