I am not as big, well height anyway as some of you guys. 6' here. When I bought my NBC even the salesman said "if I were to guess what car you wanted when you walked in here, I would nave not guessed a NBC". WTF?

I don't give a rats ass what anyone says about what I drive. I bought my car because I love it, I love driving it, and it makes me smile everytime I get in it.

If you are worried about what everyone elses thinks, there is a larger issue here.(no pun intended)

As a side note, more times than not, it is a guy that compliments me on my car.

Pretty much the same here- about 60% ladies and 40% dudes. The comments are usually, "now that's a beetle I wouldn't mind having". Then like i said, like it or not, I like it and that's what matters

Ha... now that is funny. I would agree with that 60/40 split on guys talking about the Bug and most often good. Although some are asking me if I know I'm at a diesel pump. That one always make me laugh. If I'm in that special mood... I usually say oh crap - I cant read is that what this pump says. But usually guys are in work trucks getting diesel just ask how long VW made them, hows the gas mileage - which every single one is floored. I swear VW should just pay some folks to drive around and advertise this way for them. Then someone always asks that painful question for me... does the TDi come in a convertible ... and I have to say yes in other countries with half a brain. I so want to buy a crashed vert to make a TDi conversion.

That would be a cool idea for a VW ad. And I so agree with you.... we so need a TDI nB convertible in the states!

Thanks. I did wonder about import used option from overseas... really dont see why it couldnt be done. I would love to do a couple TDi cars though: an old Jeep or FJ40, old VW Ghia or Thing, and an old Triumph GT6.

He doesnt mind. He actually likes it. He'd get a beetle or a mini if he had the funds. Its the only 2 "unique" cars that have plenty of headroom that he likes.

That is so true..> Its sooooo good to be driving a Beetle again.. The passat was nice, but the Beetles have so much character... Does anyone out there use blackberry messenger and want to talk about our cars?
