Never occurred to me to name my Beetle.

The only car I ever named was a 1964 Ponitiac Catalina I owned in the 1980s. Well actually my roommate named it.

The Queen Mary. Big heavy car, no power steering.

A "muscle" car.

Kinda reminds me of this 71 Chrysler Newport 2-door pops had. He called it "the honeydripper". I loved that car. I'd sure love to find another one of those behemoths.

My dad had a '74 Pontiac Bonneville in which we referred to as the... "Tank" or "Battleship"

... OH! lets not forget the NB names...

... the '98 got named "Valdez" recently, due to the oil slick it left in the driveway one cold morning.

... the '99 is "HiLiter", which the previous owner called it; because of its natural color.

... the wife's '00T I call "Dear", after she went hunting with it and hit a deer.

Mine is Bella Naranja, which is Spanish for "beautiful orange"

In the 70's my dad had a BMW 2002, which was orange, and we called it the "Groovy Great Pumpkin" He is really excited that I got another orange car.

Speedle is Born in late 1999 but it's a early 2000 GLS 2.0 model. He is yellow, manual, loaded and moded. Before I gave him a name we went for few road trips and got lost couple of times ( no GPS then ) exploring new routes, and we were amazed how strong and fast it was for 2.0.
"Fast and Curious". That's how I used to call him until I realized he need a real name so I combined Speed and Beetle and got SPEEDLE.
P.S. At the time I was not familiar with CSI Miami TV show.

We named our White NB turbo, 'Mel' as in Mel Blanc. The best voice any cartoon charactor ever had. He's white i.e. blanco. Sometimes he's "Just a dirty white boy!" not too often though. Can't stand to wheel around in a dirty car. Poor guy doesn't get to sleep in the garage, the Mini's kicked him out long ago.
