Hey all, I just found this forum and had a question; I have a Red 2000 1.8T and have to change the Serpentine Belt. I'd like to do this myself, so I was wondering if anyone had any how-to information? This is not a diesel motor either, btw. I dig the website

I did mine with a lot of good help. You say you have to change the serpentine belt... have you changed the timing belt and water pump? The water pump should be changed in our cars around 60-80K miles. It has a plastic impeller that frequently fails and then the car quickly overheats and you need a new head. The serpentine would be easier to change, the timing belt/water pump change is a pretty big tough job. Took us all day and well into the night. I can give more specific advice if you need it.
