My wife just upgraded to a Jetta so instead of trading in her Beetle I am keeping it to see what kind of fun I have with it. Glad I found this site. crash

Its green 2001 and has almost no options and the 2.0 engine. I am thinking of maybe trying something old school and try and make a beach type buggy out of her. I have no specific plans at this time going to spend some time over the next few weekends trying to figure out how I can do it. I only live about two hours from the beach. The car is not needed for transport. It has 83k on it and has been serviced to the max.I will hunt around the site and internet and see what I can come up with.

A beach buggy in the works possibly? You should try to emulate the VW Beetle Dune concept...

Volkswagen Beetle Dune Concept - Supercars.net

I'd totally drive an AWD Beetle Dune! Yum!

Well after trying to explain the reason I Kept the beetle was to kinda of reinvent it with a torch I found out how much she loved the beetle and how much I was not going to cut up the car. She has no vision. So I got her buy in to let me soup her up. And do new wheels performance splash some kinda paint effect sound system ect. So I will be cruizing through the old threads looking for ideas. The first will be to put in a sound system, recover the ugly black cloth seats oh yea put in a center arm rest this car is a striped version, no freakin cruize control whats up with that. Any way looks like a lot of fun. I will get into it once the riding season ends. I ride a Honda VTX 1300. crash out.
