Newbie NB owner

Hello all. I've been reading on these forums for a few weeks and decided to finally join. I've had Nightmare (a black 99 2.0 with 98k on the odo) for about a year now. So far I've been just happily commuting in her but lately I've been getting that itch.

Before I get started though, I need to perform some maintenance (timing belt/water pump, check engine light on, needs new pass. side headlight, replace headliner). Probably gonna go ahead and switch to mobil1 oil.

Once I get everything in order I plan on going ahead with a cold air intake (I know the gains are small but the feeling I get from the sound makes it worth the money) and and exhaust (see above stated reason). From there I'd like to go on with a wheel/tire upgrade, and some stiffer suspension.If I ever win the lottery I'll go for the neuspeed supercharger kit (I often like the path less traveled.)

My biggest inspirations so far is Hollywood's RUF beetle, Miss Ruby, and the vr6 cup cars.
