I'm not quite sure what to name it yet... I just got it 3 days ago and haven't found one that fits.....It's a 2005 turbo convertible in Aquarius blue. I am thinking Mindy though, because you can't say Mindy and not smile

I'm a relative newcomer to the group and have gotten involved in a few threads as I make my way towards making my ride presentable!

I just decided to name my new acquisition BEESTIE - this yellow '98 was a real rat when I brought it home.

As I peel away the grime and try to deal with the usual issues that stand in the way of restoring her to her former glory, BEESTIE just seems to fit - the Beast that once was a Beetle and will be once again!

In November of '06 I had two NB's and neither had any official name. The adolescents in the neighborhood sometimes referred to it/me as "smiley", because I have a smiley face hanging from the mirror.

However, all four of my NB's now have names and they are...

...my '98 is named Valdez which was from a comment made by wawalker in this thread.

...my son's '99 is named HiLiter (aka: HiLighter) which I acquired from a previous ORG member.

...the wife's '00T is named Dear, because she used it once to hunt deer.

...my '00T upgrade is named Cowboy (aka: BeetleGirl11) after my younger brother, because he picked it out and he thinks he's a "Genuine Cowboy". I also acquired this one from a previous ORG member.

My wife and I just bought an '03 1.8 GLS Convertible in dark blue... The name seemed so obvious, I'm surprised I haven't seen one already: TARDIS.

Edit: Just found "The Tardis," the black beetle. Solidarity, fellow time lord!

My very first beetle came with a name from the previous owner his name is Ringo like Ringo Star from the Beetles LOL but i call him the NEW Ringo because he is in the process of getting fixed and a face lift. That leads me to the second beetle....
I could not wait to get Ringo done so I went out and got Rico. I have never EVER named a car before joining this pack of people on this site. It seems that every beetle has a name and some even get birth certificates for them. NOT me LOL So I knew I had to name my second beetle. I let my kids pick the name.. they came up with RICO.. which I like for a couple reasons.. I sell mexican food, I like chrome as do mexicans and the name is mexican.. Am I mexican? NOPE I am american indian and italian. So there you have it. Nice thread and welcome to our group..

Went thru your facebook album of photos!!! WOW. Hope you are able at some point to get the door emblems for the bug. I love the face on the car, then all the spots. Great shots too of the headliner with all the signatures. Definitely a collector's item long term. PLUS what fun to drive.
