Smile one less bug for the scrapper....

Hi everyone. I'm steven and for awhile now my gf and I have been wanting to buy a beetle. Recently a friend of ours owns a 1999 new beetle 2.0 GLS was selling it. This car was gone , been in two accidents, the axle is bad the paint is all faded one rim is broken and the front of the car has a lot of body damage. : With 138,000 miles on it, they were gonna sell it to the junkyard for whatever they could get for it. But we had a better idea, my gf and I bought the car for 500 bucks, and were off to make it back to normal! it will be a long proces but we look at it as one less beetle to be destroyed! p.s. will put some pics up soon!

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

I saved mine as well, but i was able to atleast drive it home. :P

I got it for $2k and have put double in to it, but i prefer to buy a fixer upper than a nice car i have to take a loan out for. I just look at fixing it up as the payments and buying it as the down payment.

Can't afford a payment? Who cares, buy the broken part later, no harm to credit.

That's awesome that you are rescuing that poor Beetle. I'm sure it is eternally grateful for your kindness. Is it a boy or a girl and has it told you its name yet?? Pictures are required!!

That's how I feel too... The first one I bought for 4k, but the dealer took it back after the water pump blew and messed up the engine after only 2 1/2 days... The 2nd one I got for 3500 and just did the serpentine belt as well as new water pump and timing belt... It's in a little rougher shape, bt that gives me more excuses to do mods!!! LOL

Plus, going through college and grad school, plus working and raising a kid doesn't leave many options...
