Hello everybody from Dakota .
Hello . I am from Calgary , Alberta , Canada . In about six days I will be taking possesion of a 98 white Beetle named Herbert (I didn't name it , but I think the name will stay) . The car is stock right now , but I will be adding things like a cat-back system , CAI , new stereo ,etc. .I am a mechanic , but I haven't ever worked on a New Beetle other than mounting and balancing tires . I have been a GM mechanic for a long while . So the skills are in place , just not the knowledge of the vehicle . I have already gained some insight by going through the site , and look forward to getting more and meeting some other Bug drivers!

Well , after 3 aircooled Beetles and a 79 GTI , I have been away from VW's for a while , but wanting back in for a while . I needed another car to replace a dead Civic , and was going to get a Grand am , as I work on them and know them quite well . I was also going to get a 65 Beetle as a project . My wife and I decided that a project car just wasn`t a good idea at the time . The idea then came up to get a New Beetle instead , as a comprimise . I am excited to be back in the VW scene . Pics will follow shortly , as I get the car on Sunday March 14th .

So its official - I picked up Herbert Tonight! I have a few things to do yet , like an oil change , fix some burnt out lights , and remove the girlie stickers! I am most excited!
