Default Newbie with a NewB from AZ

The wife and I just got a '98 from her father and we're cuurently deciding who gets it. She says she does and I think she's wrong.

It only has 74K on it, but it's thoughing codes and running like crap. I though an O2 sensor at it but it seems like it's the connection to the mas air lfow sensor, her dad broke the connector taking it off to change the air filter.

Pretty cool site.

Well, I hope you can take this New Beetle in, and fix it up. It sounds like a nice family member. Welcome to the Org, and Welcome to the New Beetle.

(I cannot help you with the "who gets it" issue.... )

You two are the ideal couple. Both of you love New Beetles....Awesome. Maybe one drives the beetle on weekdays, the other on weekends......Ah, I better be like Deb and stay out of this one

Glad to have you guys here though- post often.

By the way you have a veteran orger who resides in AZ by the screen name of DannyRandomState- you should send him a PM and introduce yourselves

Hello and welcome from a fellow Arizonan! I just got my '98 2.0 a few weeks ago too and found this site. I've received tons of help so far, everyone really seems to know their stuff here...

As far as who get the bug, your wife DOES have a genetic connection to the former owner, but I think the bug would have to pick itself...

I should come clean. I own:
73 Beetle (that I AutoX)
70 Baja
84 Scirocco

In the last two years I had
76 Westy
87 Cabby (was the wifes, I got that one too )

So my logic is that I should get it becase of brand loyalty!

AND she got the Toyota that came from MY dad!

Welcome to the org I too am going to stay out of the "who gets it" situation

By The Way, DannyRandomState is a great NB expert, he could help you out with any questions you had AND you are in the same state not sure how far from each other but he is a nice guy, I haven't met his wife yet but I'm sure she is pretty cool

Anyway, post pics when you can, we love them

Welcome from another Arizonan. I'm not a NB owner yet, but am looking.

The brand loyalty argument is pretty compelling!
