New to the forum!!

Hello all! My name is Amelia and I drive a 2002 New beetle. I got into Volkswagen's last year and ever since have fallen in love with modding my car. This is my first VW project, and I am no where near complete. I decided to join the NB org in hope to share the progress of this project with you guys and if i have any questions (Which I always do ) I am defiantly in the right place to ask!

I just moved out of Salmon Creek area in September, to Longview. So I am only about 45 minutes away from you

Dnyed (Deb) lives in Vancouver too, you'll meet her soon I imagine as soon as she logs into the org *lol*.

By the way, I *love* your car. Mine is also a 2002, limited edition double yellow color concept.

I took my yellow wheel inserts out and the spoiler is in the shop getting painted black, and the wheels are going to get powdercoated soon

We are going to have to meet up and compare yellow bugs soon!

Hi Amelia,
I am new to this site as well. I have always loved VW Bugs and was thrilled when I was able to buy a 2004 convertible last year. I am happy to see that someone else has a name for theirs. Mine is Buggy (I know, not very original)

I have seen your car before, i think i was browsing pictures on flickr one day of DYCC and I believe that was yours that i was looking at!

Wanna know somethin a little odd? My beetle isn't a DYCC.... its Double Yellow in color but came completely stock! 2.0 engine, cloth black seats, and hubcaps. After researching more into it I found it interesting that he was DY but yet stock everything else, but I was also disappointed because I of course didn't have the turbo :/

So that right there kind of sparked my interest in modding. My first vision was to make him a DYCC, with my own little spin on it of course. By doing a little bit different style wheels, but yet look similar to those with the color inserts. Also, i was starting to save for a turbo, but decided i wanted Coils instead. A year went by, and i now have a new vision for Oliver (thats what i named the little fella )

I just recently bought a new Turbo S bumper, that will be painted yellow next month, along with my side mirrors and roof that will be painted black. And will be purchasing my new wheels which are currently on the MKV GTI's they are know as Huff's (but have a more complex name), next month as well. I'm hoping Oliver's new makeover will make him look mean and aggressive. Plus a lower and wider stance will help with that too

So that's basically the story of my car, and how I got into modding!

I will be posting more pics soon but my computer is at home . I just cleaned my engine bay yesterday so I might post pics of that too :P

Welcome! I love your NB! (I'm pretty partial to Yellow beetles as well )

Ok you know what is crazy funny? I'm making mine look LESS like a color concept

The back seat is coming out and I have some fun plans for that, the Take 5 wheels are getting powder coated, the spoiler is getting painted black AS I write this (they called a while ago and told me it'll be ready in the morning).. and they are giving me a quote on, get this, the roof, the mirrors, and the rocker panels to be painted black. *lol*.

I really like both of those! I'm leaning towards the first one more butttt the second picture looks more like "Sting" Whatever you end up with I'm sure will look awesome! Can't ever go wrong with yellow and black

Nice to meet you Zuri! I will be starting a picture thread when it comes closer to summer, all the parts are sitting in the garage currently until I can get enough money to paint and put everything together. So I'm aiming for this project to begin around the end of June!

Is yours an actual Turbo S bumper, or the Votex? That'd be pretty funny if you got the Votex too

I as a matter of fact did indeed buy the votex bumper haha, but only the front bumper as i didn't have enough funds to buy the rear but its okay

Its funny because after reading all the stuff we have planned for our cars it sounds similar haha. But its okay because I have a feeling you wont be putting pink details through out your car like me

And as for during the week, I usually work. I never really know what my schedule will be like week to week.. its always a surprise. :/ Are you planning on going to any shows this summer like Waterwerks, or Waterland at the Woodburn drag strip?

The engine cover is way nice i like it. I'd prob do mine pink eventually, i have other things i need to take care of before i even mess with the details though

I like her beetle! the pink wheels look good with the white car. I was quite disappointed that yellow and pink don't exactly mesh too well together, that's why i kind of have tastefully hidden pieces in pink

One of our members, Mutato, is coming down from Seattle to hit Portland, and he was wondering if anyone wanted to meet up for a small gtg sometime Saturday.

If you are interested, let me know! We'll figure out where and when and what , blah etc

awh man this is like the only Saturday i cant to it, I have some family coming in town this weekend.

But please keep me updated for other gtg's, I'd love to meet more people who love their cars as much as i do
