Talking Not a newbie but a new car for the Mrs.

Not a newbie. I've watched this site evolve into the best "New Beetle" site on the net. We used to have a Cyber Green color concept 1.8T and loved it. Sold it for a good price and the Mrs has been regretting it ever since. I told her one day I'd find her a nice convertible. Well here it is. I actually found it on craigslist.org and the car was located at "sunvertibles" in Franklin,TN Sunvertible was great to deal with. They handle only top notched cars. sunvertible.com I found a 2006 Aquarius Blue ragtop with the Package two. Winscreen and top boot included. Only 20,300 on the clock. I bought it way below KBB and NADA values. Closer to trade-in value. The Mrs loves it.. Here's a few of pictures and will add more if requested.

Thanks for all the kind words. My wife is just thrilled to have her bug back. She's never had a convertible. I used to have a Mustang Cobra convertible, and she misses that ragtop ride..

There where a couple of items missing so I told the salesman you'll have to come off that price. At first he said only one switchblade key came with it. I knew these keys cost around $250. There where no floormats. I told him the car has got to have floormats. I told him all these things where with the car originally and someone boosted them.

He later found the flip key and Valet key. He also at my request put in a set of New Beetle logo'd monster mats. Sweet..

I bought the car on a Saturday but didn't pick it up untill the next Thursday.. Why? Seems there was a transmission leak while it was displayed in thier inside showroom and sent it to the dealer to have replaced at no cost. Warranty repaired. Sweet...

Bottom line here.. Negotiate.. Negotiate.. Do your homework as to cost and stay darn close to your first offer which should be slightly above trade-in value.. Sweet..

One thing that caught my eye was the cool pinstripping down the sides. I don't know if this was aftermarket or VW installed.

My hubby bought my NBC for me. I just showed him the color and convertible I wanted. I like hubbys!

I know you wife is happy. I hope she has many fun times in it. What is the name, did she get the birth certificate?

Congrats fellow Tennesseean! Haha.
I got an incredible deal on my NB about a month ago myself. I'm lucky my dad was a car dealer all my life so I knew how to work 'em.

She hasn't given it a name yet. As for obtaining a birth certificate.. The car was built in Mexico, does that mean the certificate would be in spanish?

I see you have the PKG2 as well. When I started my quest for the Mrs another slugbug, I wanted fog lights. Seems the Package 2 cars where the only ones that had them. She'll enjoy all the other options. I did however tryout the rain sensing wipers.. They worked great. The last time I was in Memphis was last month. Our nephew was in a serious accident and is still in the Hospital there.

I guess it really doesn't matter who put it on. It sets it apart from the rest. It's tape however and I'll have to be careful when waxing it. I started clay bar-ing the car yesterday. It sure makes a difference.

The car didn't have any car mats and told them it had to have some, so I requested the monster mats. My luck with VW carpet mats is they wear out in a couple of years.

Just installed a Euro-switch. Next was a R32 Dead Pedal. Looks sweet. Got to find an (auto) pedal set at a good price. These are sooooo simple to put in. I've got more stuff ordered comming from overseas.. Stay tuned..

Technically, its not tape. It is vinyl.
Vinyl is a good way of having designs without the cost and the fact of being permanent.
So becareful with the clay bar
lol
Although it can be replaced

It is a beautiful car!!!
Have fun!

If it comes on a roll then I refer to it as TAPE. All Vinyl pinstripping I've bought or seen has been on a roll. Techically one could call it a decal if it was created in one piece.. <smile>

I bought these on eBay and found some that where blue. I've got some badges comming in and I'll post some pictures when I get them mounted.
