Default Hey there all

I'm the proud new owner of a 99 Beetle GLS... LOVE IT already! This is my first beetle, one slight issue.. On the way home not being used to the light brakes my foot slipped and I tapped into someone sitting at a stop light :-( Luckily no damage to the BEETLE but minor scratches to hers and I was thankful she said ehhh it was messed up already :-) Just glad to finally have my beetle and loving the disc changer too... I have a few minor flaws to fix but overall i'm in love..

The fender bender is the curse of the black vw. Both of mine have tapped other cars within mere months of owning them.

Silver is worse, that makes you a target. I have silver fenders and got rear ended within a month.

Welcome to the ORG! I too am the proud owner of a 99 2.0, and it was love at first sight. Unfortunately my disc changer is messing up, I'm going to have to find another one.

Welcome! I am interested in the questions regarding RPMs (mine's a stick, but on the freeway at 70 mph speed limit, it stays between 3500-4k as well. My Dad has said the engines are just idled high. I can't tell that it has caused any problems, anyway. But I am curious, too!

At 80, my car is turning a tick under 4k rpm.

Mine is a 2.0 liter gas auto and can crank up to 3000 at 30 mph when I'm dithering about doing the 25mph speed limit on a hill or whether to crank up the radio and do 35+. Of course I do the latter Naughty!!!!!
