I heve a 1998 new beetle.as of today my lights on the doors ,clock, and dash have gone out. Changed fuses and still no lights in these areas when I turn the headlights on. Any ideas?

Have you checked the dimmer for the lights? Not trying to insult your intelligence but I thought I had a problem with the lights when I picked up our first beetle. I did not turn them on. Day time lights we on but no inside lights. Used a flashlight to see the speedometer. Figured it out the next morning. If the dimmer is not turned check fuse then switch
