Arrow Hey every1 .. just want to know abit more about my Beetle !!

Just thought id join here to talk to other Beetle lovers FINALLY...after 11years of wanting one..iv got myself a Beetle!!

Im abit confused abit it tho....as its not a 'V5' but has the look of it..with the spoiler, front and back bumper and the main part of the 4 eyes instead of the normal 2 main headlights! I was just wondering if any1 knew how many of these were made and where they sold them...or has the previous owner of my car added these parts??

It's currently in the garage getting a new air filter and geting checked out as its not from where i live..so has to go through an M.O.T !! I traveled to Manchester (England) but im from the Isle Of Man

Thanx

Also...im wanting to change the bumper and boot 'VW badge's' as there abit worn from weather and age...so how whats the best way to go about this?? There's a cup holder missing in the back in beige/cream and i cant seem to find one to buy. Also the passengers inside lock pin is missing...where can i get 1 of them?? Ooo and the boot does'nt close proply...sooo i have to put the key in whilst its open, turn it to the left..then it shuts fine !!

Think thats it at the moment...iv only had it for a week so will up-date if i find anything else.

Newbie Welcome Kit!

Welcome to the ORG Adam. Isle of Man. That's where they have they famous TT (Tourist Trophy)race every year and that's how the Audi TT got it's name. Glad to have you aboard.
Very nice looking Beetle. Looks like a Turbo S from the body but I know you said it was a 1.6 liter which we don't get here in the states. They deprive us of a lot of different cars here in the US. No Scirocco, only a fraction of the engines choices choices that other countries get.
I guess they protect us over here from saving too much gas. We have to keep the pockets of those corrupt politicians and those oil sheeks filled

Hi Adam!

Regarding the rear hatch not closing properly, a lot have this problem. I do myself as well, so take a look at this thread.

Hatch won't latch

Seems there's a number of solutions people have done - from lubricating the hook pivot to zip tie-ing the solenoid to even grinding down the hook! I'm just waiting for the weather to get a bit warmer and I'll try them out myself. Let us know which method worked for you

hey to u to 'matt423' ..yeah bet it is kinda weird seeing the drivers side there!!

Thanx for the welcome 'IndyTom' ... yup thats right, the T.T takes place here..as i live here it's way more of a pain than a plasure..the roads get closed so its hard to meet up with my mates and traffic is crazy. But the good thing is it brings alot of atmosphere and people to the island. NO WAY..are u serious, is that really how the 'Audi T.T' got it's name..thats soo cool ,never knew that .

Thanx 'nitroman' ..will check that out now.
