Hi everyone. I am new and trying to learn more about my beetle. I'm trying to learn some things b/c I am wanting to start modding it. It is a stock 04 GL 5-speed. Nothing special but I want to make her look good! All I have right now are some peace sign tail light covers and led strips in my floorboards! I will put some pictures up soon.

I want a little of both. I know I want to get some wheels and go lower. I will probably get a spoiler too. Performance wise, my boyfriend is the mechanic so he knows more than I do and we havne't looked much into the performance side yet.

Looks like you have a 2.0L. Not much to be done for performance there, at least not thats really worth it. The 2.0 isn't really a performance mod engine, that's what the 1.8T is for

Welcome and post pics for sue!

Welcome to the Org!

Newbie Welcome Kit!

I think the most important part is keeping the Beetle alive and safe on the road. The timing belt service being the most important part.

Happy to have you aboard. Can't wait for pics

Hello! My parents are 3 hours north of you in Byhalia.

Post some photos of the 04 - the 2.0 has more upgrade options available to it today than it did a few years ago.

I had to look Byhalia up. I had never heard of it. Ha but I will post some tonight probably. I'm still in class and have to do a little cleaning to her when I get home! So as long as this rain holds off they will be up tonight!

kcfoxie is correct. There is a lot of mods you can do for the 2liter. Cams are fairly cheap, ecm programs, larger injectors, to the expensive toys like superchargers and turbos. My next mods are going to be a new cam, dual valve springs, larger injectors and a smaller pulley for more boost.
It just depends on how much you want to spend, and how much power you want. Keep us posted.
