Default My Wife Turned Me Into a Beetle Lover :S

So my wife and I are from Van Buren, AR and she recently came into ownership and a cosmetically tore up 2001 New Beetle 2.0 GLS. This this smells like a CO-OP and looks like they used it to keep the bulls in line out in the pasture, but it is mechanically sound. That's what really matters. Her dream is to turn it into a Mossy Oak style car. I want it to not look like crud and I'd be happy.

I drive a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe z71 5.7l 4WD and I work for the local Chevrolet dealership. I always swore by Chevy and said that there is nothing as good as a Chevy. Boy did she prove me wrong with this beetle. It may be tore up but it is comfortable (if you cant smell the CO-OP I mentioned earlier xD)

Welcome to the beetle brotherhood

Congrats on the beetle rescue. Please take pics now.... we love before and after projects, and seeing the grand transformation.

Do you have maintenance records? Our bugs need the timing belts changed around the 75k mark, as well as replacing the plastic impellar water pumps. Give us the skinny buddy.

Again, welcome to the world of beetles and to the org. Don't be a stranger.

Welcome to the org! I, too, would love to see some pictures so we can watch your Bug's transformation.

First thing on your list to buy-a massive supply of those little pine trees for your Bug to make it smell better! Lol! j/k

Again, welcome.

We were a Ford family for many years. Several F-Series trucks, an Explorer, a couple of Taurus's. After my first New Beetle, I am VW Forever! (just look below! )

Welcome to the Org, and Thank you for taking on, and taking care of that New Beetle.

I will take plenty of pictures. I saw a picture on vwvortex.com of a beetle that had a forest of the smelly trees on the mirror. It reminded me of our beetle. After we fix up this battle bug, I am going to purchase a 2012 TDI Jetta fully loaded probably.

I don't remember if the carfax had any service records, I believe it did. I will have to check when I get home. But it would be a good idea to have those things checked out. Round abouts how much did it cost from a stealership?
