Default An American BlackOrange?

Let me start by saying I am new and Hi! I just purchased a NB yesterday and then stumbled across this forum in a search about my little bug. It was listed as a Bronze bug, however after some research I discovered it was actually Red Rock coloring. It had the words BlackOrange on the lower portion of the doors and I assumed the previous owner had done this until I ran into a picture of another BlackOrange.

I saw that they were manufactured in Germany and in Australia but could not find anything about the US, which is odd since it does have American side driving. Anyone have any more information about the BlackOrange line??

Here is a picture of the new car I have yet to name!

Welcome to the org. Yep your bug is a red rock. I am not sure your stripe is stock.

I'm in Crestview, it's up by Pensacola in the panhandle. The car only had one previous owner, was a woman who only had it for less than a year and a half before she stopped paying and they repo'd it. I suppose she could have put it on, but that'd be strange I guess. Any ideas of how I could tell?

The only thing I can say as far as the strip is the font is identical and from all of the images I have seen it is exact spacing on the little thin strip at the top, the portion at the bottom etc. I haven't found anywhere that sells that BlackRock strip or anything, but I guess it could have been custom made. Finding that font though.. dunno.

In Australia, the BlackOrange in Redrock had a black roof, silver mirror caps and black wheels. On the inside there were vinyl/leatherette seats.

I agree it's a Red Rock (my neighbor has the same car). Not only is the stripe a mod, but look at the antenna. From what I can see, your has a 'shark fin' style....and stock is a 'standard' antenna (you can look at mine to see what I mean).

Your new bug is just lovely!!!! I love that color!

Oh snap I forgot I had taken the antenna off before I took the picture @_@ There is actually an antenna but on the way home I went through the car wash and had to take it off. I'll upload another pic later.
Thanks for the complements on my little bug! It really is an eye-catching color, pics don't do it justice!

I found a pic I had taken at the car lot before we drove home, its a bit dark but you should be able to see it actually has an antenna -

Just found the pictures of your cute little bug! Love that color!!! I do see that you have an antenna stick thing like I do too so looks like the same as mine. Gah so confusing lol

That stripe could be a dealer add-on. Looks like a standard Red Rock to me otherwise.

Well cool ^^ It looks really neat and they did a good job on it if that is the case! I appreciate all the help~ I actually found a little card in the car where the car was originally sold at, may see if they have any records on it, get a little more information

I found one just like yours in my area, without the stripe along the bottom. I have to admit, that car looks awesome in person!

Been trying to get some more pics up but I've been working days and by time I get off the sun has gone to sleep That's a nice one here you linked, I'm surprised I found mine at the price I did with the mileage I did. Was also lucky the dealer didn't know it was a limited edition~

Oh and scarabY2k, a Beetle meetup sounds like a lot of fun~ Hopefully I can get some vacation time off! That would be really neat to go to ^_^

So! Because of this car wash damaging my BlackOrange labels I ended up having to take my baby into the official VW place today. Turns out the BlackOrange labels ARE official BlackOrange labels ordered from VW Australia/Germany that actually comes on the official BlackOrange Limited edition line over there! I thought that was pretty neat, except for how much it is going to cost to replace them T_T

Stunning color.. I have never seen this color before. I have to say that orange would be a close second to my favorite green color. too bad about your decal , i have a turbonium decal on mine, I think the bottom stripes really add to these cars.
