So, what kind of new beetle do you have? We love pics- hint, hint

I see you're from Central FL.. where abouts? I was raised in Brooksville.

Scarab,
Don't own a 'vert at the moment. Just work on them everyday. I'm down the road southeast of your old hometown on Hwy 27 right in the middle of the state - Sebring.

Since we are very rural, haven't had many NBConvertibles until recently. They are all having the back window fall out.

After working on a couple of them (replacing the top covers), I think that this is one of the best engineered ragtops of all time.

Looking forward to the forum and talking to all of you.

Do you work at a dealer? Our back window cam unglued as well and the dealer paid for the part while we paid for the labor. Our car was out of warranty but they said VW admit's that it is a problem and is helping out with the issues. Our car has alway's been garaged so heat didn't have much to do with it. It happened at around 5 years old and 50k miles.

Are you aware if the newer OEM tops have remixed the adhesive to keep this from happening in the future or are they identical parts from original? I sure hope they're updated somewhat. I've watched the Bentley video on the top cover replacement and it really does look well engineered. I like the zippers to keep thing centered and the huge aluminum frame that wraps around the back.
