I am happy that you got your New Beetle. I also have been waiting for many years to get one. I got it in September of 2011. Mine is a 1999 VW 2.0L GLS and it is in near perfect condition. I am very proud of it and gave it a name. I call it "Rudy" short for Rudolf a good German Name. I actually visited the VW World HQ in Wolfsburg, Germany and toured their factory. That convinced me! Oh one more thing, about the car problems. That is to be expected. I am a mechanic so the first thing I did was replace the Drivebelt and the Mass Air Flow sensor (They have a lot of problems with those). Perhaps I can help you with some things? Anyway, don't be down about the problems. You have one of the finest engineered cars in the world! That's is enough. Happy Driving.

welcome to the org!! : D
I remember back when I was a kid too...I fell in love with the Beetles in mexico (who woulda known the factory was in mexico!), and ever since then I had to have one. Took a while too--I got mine in 2011 as well!

I live in north east CT and I'm n the hunt for a new Beetle. I hope to find one soon. Got $3000 to $4000 to spend. Any help finding one would be appreciated. I'm going to look at a few this weekend.
