Disappointed Beetle

I am very disappointed with 2001 NB I got a few weeks ago and its going returning back to car lot got from. Cause a lot of things start going wrong with it. Yesterday it was acting weird that all the idiot lights was going off and on then beeping 3 or 4 times then all lights went off then in few min later it came back on then it slow down to 25 mph and stuck at that speed couldn't speed it up mind ya while all that going on we were in the middle of two freeway marging together what makes it worst the emergency 4 way flasher didn't work we almost got kill. My wife and I was scared. This car is not safe. They didn't do the inspection on it.

sorry to hear that, is my humble suggestion that you should get a Carfax on the vehicle and see if it was in an accident or possible water damage, my daughter did that on a vehicle she was about to buy and found out that it was not a good purchase...good luck

We did get Carfax all it shows that it got hit once which hit on rear right or left finder. I look at it and it looks like it just a bump scrap a little all I can see.

Ok after we got it towed back to where we got it from. Their mechanic look at it today said it was the alternator went out and it drain the battery out. So what I can see what happen the alternator went out and completely drain the battery which is why the 4 way quit working. NOT SO COOL even while we were in the middle of mirging two freeway. I've notice the turn signal start acting weird like sometimes it works for a few min then stop working then I had turn it off then on to get it working. Ive read from here saying that the 4 way relay cause it. I wonder if the alternator cause it to not work right? I have never seen a car do that in my life. I guess that's what alternator do. Alternator is not cheap eekk $179.00 fawk me. I'll pick it up tomorrow morning. We live out in the woods and its about 1 1/2 hr drive one way. There's a few things I still have to fix like the trunk lid not shutting right to catch the latch to lock it. and the gas tank door not unlocking the door but they broke it so now I'll have to work on that. Oh and gezze christ I thought I was having a lake in my car it turns out the sun roof drain on driver side was plug up got that fix that was fun. So I went around the rest of to make sure its clear.

Was it wet or icy when this happened? Some of the cars have what called EPC, this is engine power control. If they detect wheel slippage it will cut off fuel so that the car will not slip, it can even apply the brakes to slow down the wheel that is slipping.

The turn signal relay is actually the flasher switch, they are known to go bad. If it was my car I would replace it.

It was Dry and sunny. ahh thats what EPC stands for. thats new to me

I knew that from reading that from here. ok question were can you get that part. is it dealer Idem ? can I order it online? What they told my wife everything is working now after they put new alternator in. Well see tomorrow when I get in.

Varying voltage issues can really whack stuff out, so lets hope that is all it is. You can get a relay switch on eBay for around $20-30. Also I really have had good quality stuff from autohausaz, but since they are close by and the part usually arrives the next day I may be bias. A lot of people like ECS tuning for parts as well, I think they are a bit pricey, but they are a forum sponsor which makes me want to support them.
