New member with 2000 NB TDI
Hello,
Well I finally made the group so hi to all ... I have a question, which is why I joined. My TDI is beginning to output some black smoke and I wondered what this means. Do some engines require rings at abut 100K miles? Also, Do I really need to do a timing belt at 100K or can I wait another 20K miles? The Dealer want $850 bucks for this. Thanks in advance for any help. Thanks Gary Timeline

Is there alot of smoke?
I thought that all TDIs put out some black smoke (soot) ? Anyway..welcome to the org!!
