Gosh, I wish I had the money. As weird as it sounds, I've always wanted a Eagle Talon, especially with a body kit! Hmm...boyfriend's Jeep is getting old...
I would make the drive for that if I had the money right now.

so, let me see if i have this right:
--pretty much stock 1995 eagle talon tsi fwd (i'm assuming it's fwd due to the galant transmission, which would have to be out of a 1994-1998 as no 1999-2005 galants came with a 5-speed) --needs paint (which will cost the average joe $2500) --uncertain timing belt/balance shaft belt history (hope to god it's been done every 60k or else the car's junk) --shaved handles (which would really suck to get in if the battery dies) --those blue seats --2nd gen 7bolt motor, which at 160k, is due to have crankwalk all that being said, and please keep in mind i DO know my stuff about dsm cars, i wouldn't ask over $3500 for it. well, unless you failed to mention that the motor has been rebuilt at sometime or a 6bolt found its way into it or it is in fact an awd...then well, $5500 isn't far off, and i stand corrected. it's just that you're a new member, really have no history here, and i'm just looking out for our community. now, if you would in fact take $3k-$3500...i could find a home for it in ct with a friend.

![]() Just because it may not be your cup of tea does not make it "basically stock". A lot of time and money went into this build and if you were in fact a DSM know it all you might see that. I believe that instead of looking out for the interests of the New Beetle community you are more interested in starting something with me. I sir am no Noob, check the join date before making stupid comments. Some people read the forums and find their answers without the need to be a post whore. But thanks for keeping the post alive. Be sure I'll be crying myself to sleep tonight over your comments about my baby. |

i'll say what i have to say; short and sweet, because i deal with pricks like you all day at work, and into the night.
if you don't like what i have to say, then close the page. i pointed out some truths about the car, and your reaction concerns me. the average person would be happy to answer those questions tactfully and truthfully. that is, of course, if there's nothing to hide. now, i may have come off like a douche (i tend to do that at times), BUT i raised some good points. has the motor been swapped? what year is the transmission out of? when was the last time the belts were done? when you have a modified automobile, questions will be asked and they should be answered. you want to create a good sale here, best to be tactful and truthful. this is a vw website, not a dsm site. most people here don't know the timing belt r+r interval from adam. most people here don't know that the car is about 90% shared with either a mitsi galant or dodge avenger to keep costs down. i do, however, and so do you, soooo...i asked the questions as if i were looking at this car for myself or a member of my family, as i consider many members of this site to be. and for the record, i never said i was a know-it-all or that it wasn't my cup of tea. if you had bothered to inquire within (and you didn't), you might have found out that i have built these cars for many years and have had a 10.8 dsm. i was probably building my '92 laser rs awd in my basement when you were watching the fast and the furious wondering how to avoid high manifold pressure. |

1.Anyone can see that this is far from stock. And the title of the post states GST, which is 2wd turbo. But I guess anyone that knows DSM's would already know that. But good job on correctly identifying the tranny. It is out of a 96 Galant. Your gold star is in the mail, wear it proudly. And class, why would that swap be a good thing. The Galant tranny has taller gearig and performs better on the highway. And I hate high gas prices, so every little bit helps. Also, I don't race this car so any small decline in off the line performance is no concern to me. 2. It has paint - read the details. 3. Regular maintainance has been performed. But anyone interested probably wouldn't take my word for it, and would want to see it for themselves. Upon inspection they would see a very clean 4g63 in great running condition. 4.Your personal preferences toward shavved doors is not protecting anyone. If you dn't like it, you have to option not to buy it. Isn't America great. 5. Once again, personal preference. If blue is not your color, see above. 6. Anyone who owns a 10 sec 1g should already know what crankwalk is. But for the rest of the class. Crankwalk can show up in any car, but was a problem in DSM's because of how soon it happened. Due to some faulty parts, a small percentage of eclipse owners experienced this early. Very early in fact, usually under 60,000 miles. Some owners needed rebuilds while under warrenty, while others were not as lucky. The problem was new owners had their cars go boom, and nobody likes that. To make things worse, Mitsubishi would not make a recall because not all engines were effected. The good thing for us now is that any eclipse over 60-80 tousand miles has had this problem dealt with already. That or it does not run. Many DSM fans swear by the 7 bolt (2g motor) and it is deserving of that. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. 7. If you want a stock Eclipse for 3 grand, there is this thing online called Ebay. I suggest you go there. Response to second post : 1. I fail to see how I'm the prick when you hyjacked my post with these retard comments. If you had questions then ask. Keep all unrelated comments to yourself. If you don't like the car, then move on. I can't make anyone buy this car. Anyone is welcome to check it out for themselves, and then make thier decision. 2. I was tipped off that this was a VW site by the header. I guess that is why I listed it under Non-VW related items, along with the rest of the non VW things. 3. I doubt very seriously that anyone that does not know why crankwalk was a problem for DSM's had a 10 sec anything. But maybe I'm wrong. How many APC stickers does it take to go that fast anyway ? 4. If you are in fact concerned with the protection of the Beetle community, then do them a favor and keep retard posts like this to yourself. Nobody cares about your personal tastes. And it is using space that could be serving a purpose. Finally, I appologize to anyone else who might now be dumber for having read this "for sale" post turned crap. I only intended to sell a car, but who knew it would turn bad. I will answer any questions you may have, but please keep all personal opinoin comments to yourself. Once again, if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it. |

![]() not here to criticise you guys but to show support. and feed back. ![]() to tell you the truth. jdexter73 New Member. it is cool looking car for that price. you have the rimz you have the body kit and clean body and you have the aftermarket cd player. and always when you try to make a sale you put op the price a bit to get a few offers. could of sold it beetween 4800-5300depending on the seller. almost forgot "retard" doesnt sound nice. lets look for better way to offend some one(not interested on buying. but just wondering. Did you get your car sold? Dand for you The Cheat daddy mack. some poeple have that problem/ i have it my self/ i write or tell it outloud of what i think right away. you should of asked nicely to give descriptions of mechanical history if he had any knowledge of service or changes done for the good of the buyer(even if you were not interested on buying, just on protection of our ORG.) you were a bit of a smart as. but you brought up really good points. next time in cases like this lets start with smooth conversation and not bombard before asking. (some people are really sensitive and cant take the beat)i might get back to you, i know alot a bout cars but it seems like you know your stuff dude, good job on that. ![]() |
