Default Drag Racing Slot Cars

heres my winter hobby , it all started back in 1990 while working for Jegs high performance in columbus , we got bored and couldnt race or go to the races in the winter time , we found out about this place that raced slot cars and had a
1/8th mile drag strip (scale @27ft long ). so one of my buddies went over , got hooked and bought some cars ,,and as they say the rest is history
this is where i got the nickname of Bugman ,, when they would call my name they got tired of saying my whole nameso they just yelled bugman ,,since i always had a volkswagen race car ,,ok well actually thats usally all i had , i would build a different car for certain classes , but the other cars were limitied to their use ,,,here are some pictures of this past weekend at a new track here in columbus , at the next race i will take some pictures of the actual track and some racing action ,most of my cars 9with the exception of the busses ) run the 1/8th mile in under 3/4 of a second ..on the 1/4 mile tracks they usally run from 1.o to 1.5 seconds
all the cars are 1/24th or 1/25 scale , and either a model car body or a clear lexan body thats painted from underneath ,chassis are made of steel wire and some use a stamped steel lasor cut chasis , ,, its a fun thing i do in the cold months ,
the picture of my ghia and the pontiac is from the winners circle yesterday , i ended up winning the class ,,

yeah i have seen those , those are mostly used on the round tracks ,,
we use the 1/24th scale stuff , there are rules and stuff on what you can and cant have ,, its basiclly like the NHRA ,,just smaller ,, break a motor in these ,, you throw it in the tool box and grab another or take it home ,,no need for a big expensive tow rig or trailer ,,
