Default Any Yarnaholics?

Ok, will try again with our own thread. Any more yarnaholics out there? I crochet well, knit like a backward child, and love collecting yarn.

AM torturing myself trying to learn to make socks from books. AM not doing well. Come on, I know there are some more fiber crafters out there. You can fit a lot of yarn in a beetle.

Reenie

Ah Reenie, you would love my Mom! Back a few years ago, she had a local store in TN called "The Yarn Barn", she sold all things yarn, crochet, knitting. You name it, she had it. I remember on cold winter day, I was in my very first plaster body cast all that winter, I turned sissy! Yes, my sisters taught me how to make potholders! And made them I did!!! What a way to pass a dreary cold snowy day. I am proud that I made them, althogh this is the first time in my life I have ever admitted it!

Thanks, Scott, that makes me feel good. Maybe we could all get together and make beetle cozies.

Nope, not a yarn lover, although I'd love to knit something nice, although I don't know what

Yes, I love yarns. Wannabe spinner/weaver rather than knitter or crocheter. Especially fond of the articles in SPIN-OFF. Also a magazine I think was called WILD FIBERS (FIBRES?)

Smile I Crochet!

I have been crocheting for years and love it! My mother-in-law taught me. I make things for my family and to sell too. I have made afghans, pillows, doilies, slippers, baby clothes, tp covers, potholders, just gobs of stuff! I have sooo much yarn I don't think I'll ever use it all! Our community center here has a Christmas Bazaar type thing every year and I go and sell my crochet. It is really a fun place. Everything has to be crafted yourself not store bought. Post some pics of whatever you make. I like to see what others create and maybe get some ideas for projects! Here is just a few pics of what I've made.

I don't want to sound braggy, but I am a fiber artist and sell my pieces in a small shop in Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania. I love to knit very strange pieces and then I usually needle felt objects to them too. I'll get you the link to the shop but you can also add me on facebook and look at my artwork photo albums...and orange car is there too. Search for Anne Hydro.

Yay! I finally found another thread about yarns and crafts. I love soft type of yarns and bulky ones at the same time, I lack of money to buy more yarns if in the crocheting or knitting mood to practice. I'm still beginner even though I go on and off.

It most certainly does! I have created some ,,,shall we say. Interesting? items while enjoying a pint or four...

But really, I have been crocheting since I was about 5 years old, and eventually knitting, and most any kind of needlework is my favorite ways to pass the time. I LOVE yarn and crochet cotton for doilies. My Mom had a whole room in her house with shelves on all four walls jam packed with yarn. I inherited most of it when she passed away.

I have finished the Beetle cross stitch picture that I got from my "Secret Santa", but am waiting on a "custom" frame to be made before I post a picture on here.

I guess, yes, I am a big time " yarnaholic"!

LOL Good to know Barb

My spinning of Yarn usually entails a story of the Big one that got away Well, or something like that since I don't fish.

I would like to learn to cross stitch even though it's different from needle point is similar way with crochet and knitting in whole different steps. I enjoy trying something new and be patient with them.

Some cross stitch I would like to buy from Michael's are horses and roses and cute kittens, orientals, I really like to have custom pattern of the beetle of your own choice so I can do it and hang it up on the wall.

I think you should try the cross stitch. It is fun, and can become very addicting..
Check out this link to see the pattern/project I got from my "secret santa" this past Christmas.
OFFICIAL Secret Santa 2011!
I think it is post number 116 and some other pictures I've done are shown on post number 118.
Try it, you'll love it!
