Default Batik Blue touchup paint

Hey, if anyone needs any Batik Blue touchup paint, my boyfriend is selling it on ebay for me. Dealership gave me the wrong paint so I figured I'd try and sell the old bottle since they won't take it back...even though its their fault! Anyway...I'm really hoping someone will want it!!! Starting bid is really cheap too...I think they're like 10 or 12 bucks from the dealer...starting it at $2!

I know this is an old thread, but my question is about Batik Blue Touchup paint, so why start a new one, eh?

Has anybody gotten this color from Paintscratch? I ordered a spray can of it and was wondering how well the color matches.. and does it do the nifty "looks purple in the sun" thing the original stuff does?

^^^^

Paintscratch.com paint is excellent. You will be very satisfied.

I have used them for many different colors for many different cars and projects, including my own Batik blue car. You will not have a problem

well, here's hopin.

i got the paint the other day and i have to say i was unimpressed with how it looked on the sample card thing. the blue didn't look quite right (more indigo'ish, i think?) and it didn't do that nifty purple thing..

that being said, i know it's just a little piece of shiny paper, so i'm going to test it out on the eyelids i got that need painting. hopefully once it's all painted, coated, and shined up it'll be better......

the "Black Tulip" single stage i got is awesome, though. (1973 MGB color, wish I had the car to go with it!) can't wait to put it to use.

That's normal. You need to apply clearcoat for the pearlescent effect to occur. Also, the paint will look different under fluorescent light vs. incandescent light vs. natural light.

Okay.. well, I got my eyelids all painted. color looks better! The purple-pearl bit doesn't really show in them, but for now I'm going to attribute that to the fact that the abs plastic has some texture to it.

from the front (no sun reflecting).. the blue color looks pretty good!

from an angle where the purple shows (it's not even as purple as it can get, here), you can see the difference. Guess she'll be wearing eyeshadow.

pardon her dirtyness, of course.

as an experiment, i ordered a can of paint from Tower Paint, which i saw someone post about, since they could get another color i was looking for. their's seems a bit more like a single stage and is way more sparkly than the car. wouldn't use it on the outside of the car, but would be awesome on interior pieces. plus they have the better nozzles on their paint cans, which are bigger.

and, as a teaser for my next project:

Mmmmmm... Aubergine Purple from the 2004+ Lotus Elise... *drool*
(only a light coat over primer, there)
