Default Cyber vs Gecko green

I'm just curious, is there a difference between Cyber & Gecko Green or are they the same color, different name?

Thanks!

Hey there.

There are a few differences. Gecko has a much more metallic look mixed into the paint. Its a little calmer than the cyber green and looks like it wont fade nearly as bad as some older cybers have been known to do. It can almost look silver in the night and under city lights but i love the color. I could never own a cyber but the gecko is much more calmer and more of my color for a car.

Really any photo you find online wont do it justice until you see it in person....but you will get many many different opinions on here....

Just looking at the difference between our avatars show how they are different. I need to see one up close and personal! Your pug is adorable, I love ALL dogs, couldn't live without mine. A black Lab (Katie) and a Corgi/Sheltie mix (Beethoven).

kermit,I was at vw dealership a few weeks ago, they had a gecko green nb there,I didn't care for it compared to my cybergreen beetle...it's no where near as bright,it looks dull and boring compared to mine...I didn't care for it,but to each their own!

The best way I can compare the two:

Cyber Green is a very bright, popping, 5-mile-visibility color that will fade without proper waxing and care over time.

Gecko Green is a more conservative, metalic green that can get lost in the crowd of silver-beige-gray cars out there, but still has some 'pop' to it since it's not a standard 'conservative' color.. or neutral color, however you with to term it.

Gecko is ok, but I won't trade my Cyber for it.

I hate to say it, but I'd have to pick Isotope. I wish I could afford to paint my F350 Isotope.

I'm with Whitacre on this one. If I had seen Gecko before I got my Harvest Moon, I might have picked it instead. I just love the Gecko color and I'm not really a green car kind of person.

Yea people think gecko is sooo boring and dull etc etc. Cyber is way to out there and and too much of a limey green color to me. I like gecko because of the silvery bits in it. But oh well its like arguing to a wall on colors because no one will budge from their own opinion.

I don't hate the color, I just think it's stereotypical of the conservative times to which we live. Cyber green was THE color that attracted me to the new beetle, then there was SNAP Orange. I like bold, bright, 5-mile-visible colors (you would two after being rear ended twice with the excuse "I didn't see your silver car.")

If Gecko was all I had, I'd take it. It's a modern take, kind of, to Elm Green -- the popular 1970s Beetle Green. But, compared to Cyber, it's just not me. I'm not subdued, I'm highly obnoxious. I bought a car that matches who I am.

I have been alternating desktop NB pics, right now I have a Gekko Green one on. It kind of reminds me of the new Mustang retro green.

Hmm, my opinion - Cybergreen has gold metalflake in it while Gecko has silver metalflake in it.

This thread is not useful without pictures! Here you go.

First up is the Gecko, which I really like

Next up is the Cyber. I liked it as well, but like all fashionable items, possibly though overuse, the color is a bit stale for me. But then I tend to buy dark blue metallic cars.

The Cybergreen is a solid color. I would be surprised if it had silver metal flake in it. The photos above do not do Gecko justice - it's a shimmery green that is very easy on the eye.

I think my Cyber Green has some gold shimmer in the sun. Is 2006 the first year for Gecko Green? I have not seen one around town yet. All our dealership has is blue, red, yellow and the convertable colors. I love the aquarius blue. I wonder why theyonly do that in a convertable though??

Great pictures. I like both colors and the Gecko does remind me of the new retro Mustang green just as Moviequill said!

Wow SMG...the only one eh congrats!

I like them both. Its just a color on my favorite car. I would just prefer gecko because its something new and its not sooo green.
