Most likely yes, but it would probably be considered "collision" damage and it may be cheaper to pay out of pocket than to pay your deductable.

Most insurance companies will raise your premiums when you make claims, so I usually don't make a claim unless it's a high $$ fix.

I've been with State Farm for 10 years now, and I've only made one claim. It was when my former NB Rouge was vandalized to the tune of $2k.

Agree with pixel here.

You'll be lucky if they don't non renew you, let alone raise your rates if you file a claim.

Sad as it is true, claims are best left to the real big $$ stuff and out of pocket for the smaller stuff.

Like I said-- I don't agree with the fact that it's this way, it just is this way.

It's a funny glitch about parking lot door dings and dents.

Insurance Co's refer to them as collision coverage.

However, all crimes against your vehicle, arson, vandalism, theft etc, are comprehensive coverage.

Damaging someones vehicle and not leaving a note is also a crime, Conduct after an Accident as it is labeled here in NH, but insurance Co's don't play with a level field.

In some states, Comprehensive damages are not allowed to be tallied against your insurance "risk" premium, but many states are giving in to insurance co's pressure and changing the regulations. NH is one of the many states to recently change it's regulations. Now, get that glass repaired after a rock hits it, and you could up your premium.

I was told that all claims under $100 bucks are not counted under the comprehensive "tally" But when my CSR told me the list of all past glass repairs and comprehensive claims, I soon realized that even tho they were not "counted" at the time, that they sure are still on the "list" 4 years I think she said.

There is a lot of facts that insurance companies do not want you to know so they can have the advantage. Never be forthcoming with information to an insurance Co. Did you also know that some are raising your rates based on your credit score. Buy that new car, and you could up your premium too..
