Default Name this body part??

Hi everyone. I have a little problem. I put a little bit of a dent in my poor beetle by scrapping a curb with it, but I don't know what the name is of the body part I damage. It's that little part that bumps out below the door. Can anyone help me out and tell me what that part is called?

It's the rocker panel, and it's ALOT of work to put a new one on. If it's barely visible, make sure there's no holes in it and forget about it. It happens to almost everyone.

Rocker panel cover. If it isn't too bad off then just the cover can be replaced, it's a body shop job though. Part # 9 in the drawing, about $45 - 60 plus paint and installation cost.

Yeah -It can JUST be replaced...LOL!

It has to be unwelded and rewelded...primed, painted, cleared...

Looking anywhere from $500+ from a body shop...I had to pay $800-900 because of my custom paint to fix mine.

I've got 4 dents in mine that came from one of 2 garages I wet to at the time. Obviously, one of 'em didn't know how to lift the car porperly. As I don't know for sure which one did it, I cannot lay blame. COnsequently, I am stuck with 2 dented rocker panles. I can't afford to fix them, and they aren't *that* bad anyway.

Are you talking about the 4 small dents one the side of the rocker panel like this one? The rocker panels come from the factory like that. I initially thought the same thing about my NB but found out they come like that.

Default Aftermarket Covers?

I just noticed the rocker panel damage on my '06 NB (right side). I had it in last month for the 5K mile service, but can't recall seeing it after that, so I am thinking my daughter hit a curb or something else. Anyway, has anyone found any aftermarket running board covers?

Thanks,
Terry
