Default Damage done by others

Why does this always happen to people who are considerate of other people's properties?
After cleaning my car yesterday I've noticed this damage.

Does someone have an idea who to get rid of this? It's not deep, it's actually very smooth when I went with my hand over it. If possible don't mention any brands as I can't get them over here obviously

Thanks for any advice I get.
Here are two more pictures:

oh and p.s. I hope this is the right thread for it...

I had a similar scratch, see pic #3 on this thread:http://www.newbeetle.org/forums/showthread.php?t=12241
I got the fender repainted, but you could probably get it polished out as well, depending on how deep the scratches are.
Mazzja, I really sympathize, as I just got Ladybug's paint and body fixed after the 2 previous owners' mistakes.

ouch.

you may be able to get some of it out with a "scratch remover"...the deeper scrapes may force you to get it repainted.

if you aren't able to find anything like that in the netherlands, send me a PM...i'll mail you a bottle of Mother's California Gold Scratch Remover.

Yeah, if someone needs to send it, some one needs to send it. Marcia, I am so sorry, that looks so horrible and sad I had a friend stratch my jetta and it looked similar to that, but it was just a couple lines. It took me a few trys to get it to ALMOST go away.... it really was a pooper.

But If you cant find a product you want or you cant get it online, let us know, I bet you could have a few dozen in the mail from this side of the pond pretty quick.

That sucks big time! I'll talk to my hubby about that. Very possible it's their paint on your car and buffing it would get it off. I'll ask him how and what to use.

I mailed my dad the same pics and he said I had to come by and we would try to polish it out.
He said that the pics were worse than the actual damage.
He put some blue colored polish on it and we let it stay there for a while and then rubbed it off.
It lookes fine now, if you don't know it's there......
I'll have to see how it looks like in a couple of days, or after I clean my car again...

Thanks so much for the offers, but I just wait and see for a little while.

my car came with all kinds of scratches, nicks, etc. in fact, with every car i've ever owned, most of the damage done was done by other people. i am extra careful with my car, and yet, it always ends up with dents, scratches, etc. the deductible is too high on my insurance ($500) so i just let it go. sucks though, don't it?

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

I was listening to a band at a barn one night and saw damage like that the next day. I was angry, but didn't have a target for my rage, so I got over it fairly quickly. I still glare at my scratch, though.

*HUGS*

I hear ya about inconsiderate bastages. Someone parked on my bumper a few years ago and left scratches (not as bad as you have tho). Still cant get them out. And more recently someone left a nice deep scratch on the FRONT bumper. ARGH!

Why didn't I think of that.... I will try and get a picture tomorrow if the weather agrees with me. Then we'll see how the cream stays on after 2 days of standing still.

Those marks and the vertical dents from door dings bust my bubble. Good thing about minor scratches is that most damage is done to the clearcoat and not the paint. I had a cat once try to get up the side of my truck and it left horrible scratches. I even went as far as making a claim to insurance thinking that it would need to be painted. Adjuster just chuckled and told me that clearcoat makes the scratch look 100 times worse than it is.

He was right, never did anything to the scratches and after 5 years, you couldn't even see them anymore after washing and waxing the vehicle numerous times. If I had actually tried to fix it I'm sure they would have disappeared immediately.

BTW. I no longer swerve to avoid cats..

yes, in a couple of months, when spring is in the air my dad said we should give Bugje a full waxing. First, because the car will look even better than it already does and second, for the scratches on the side and any other scratches that might be on him somewhere...

Pics taken yesterday. The day after my dad rubbed some colourwax in it...

With flash:

2 pics without flash, it may still look bad, but in real it actually isn't. although it is still noticable....
